Supervisors seem useless because players call for them for decisions out of their control. Umpires give penalties based on the rules, the supervisor can only really change anything if the umpire makes a mistake in rule interpretation. Rune's penalty was harsh but could be seen as unsportsmanlike. Tsitsi had to follow the clock but didn't so that is the umpire simply applying the rules. Nothing for the supervisor to do there.

We need electronic line calling (whatever the system) everywhere. That would help avoid the vast majority of issues. We need to revisit the 25 second rule as well. Especially in very hot climates, players need to towel down. If you finish a point at the net and then have to walk far to the towel, theres literally not enough time. Also, why is it that we as spectators can see endless replays of a double bounce live, but the officials cannot??? And when officials are proven to have made a mistake, why isnt the mistake corrected? Instead, they stick to their mistake, and it may cost a player, who did nothing wrong, the match?????????

I’m just saying this. I’ve watched tennis for many years and the bad calls are getting out of control now. Players need to be able to see a replay for things (and umpires still screw up anyways). The major thing is if an umpire screws up, there should be a small fine cause players get fined for their actions reacting to bad calls, but umpires are making bad calls in the first place. Need to be held accountable. Also supervisors are completely useless. They never know what is going on since they are not on court. They listen to the umpire and just blindly support them.
