Difference between top 10 and top 30 isn't that much. It's usually because top 10 does one or two things just a little bit better.

Tbh, Machac made way more forehand errors today than against Carlos or Paul and some of them really cost him in the 2 games he dropped serve. He also had some chances against Sinner's serve which he couldn't take. I suppose there's always a risk of playing a super aggressive style, as you won't always be able to pull it off. Credit to Machac for keeping the match close until the very end, despite not being at his best today. Of course, whenever he could find his first serve or forehand, he was lethal and that helped.

He needs to get a bit better to beat the top dogs. But he's not far off. Sinner big weapon is a whipping torpedo forehand. Joker is his tactical consistency and low error precision. @@cpt-r.federer5940 Being more relaxed in clutch moments is such an underrated advantage of the top 5 who reach final after final where the lower ranked players get nervous for coming so far in the tournament. Other than being GOAT, Djoko has won so many matches the last couple of years by just having the next gen choke up after winning a set against him.

@@cpt-r.federer5940 Have you watched the match? Sinner far superior in the longer rally's, literally winning double the points of Machac. Also, Sinner had a crazy good winners/UE balance, not only on serve but also forehand and backhand. 0 forehand UE e.g. in the first set. Machac sometimes crushed the ball for winners but just as much hit the ball in the net etc. Machac succesfully came Forward this match (15/20) but from the baseline was losing clearly.

Machac is really fierce. I've seen glimpses of his talent before, but in this tournament he really showed what he's made of. I'm impressed that Sinner could keep up with him. Also, when someone says he misses the era of the big 3 - these guys, Sinner, Alcaraz, Machac and others, are in my opinion playing way better.

Machac has got an absolute beast of a forehand. The viciousness and the intensity with which he smacks the ball on a forehand is quite something else! The forehand action sort of reminds me of Roddick for his early years but Machac hits it ferociously and accurately. He's only 23, same age as Sinner so if he keeps improving and stays consistent, he will have a crack at becoming part of the new top 3 alongside Alcarez and Sinner.
@fwvw7056
@fwvw7056 Сағат бұрын
He will never reach that level and it is not even close. His forehand technique is unconventional and frankly not his best shot even (has a really good backhand). He can smack the ball with his forehand but produces to many errors. The amount of unforced errors is too big. He maybe can crack the top 10 once but you go look and see how many points you have to win to get in there. It's still a tall order. There is a huge gap between 25th and 10th.

@@fwvw7056 I'm not gonna put someone down like that by saying he will never reach that level, its way too early to pass a judgement like that but fair enough its your opinion and opinions are subjective from person to person so its fair...He has shown in flashes that he's good enough to hang with the current top performers so that gives me hope. I hope he improves and stays consistent.
@fwvw7056
@fwvw7056 Сағат бұрын
@@Targaryen_Historian you are talking about top 3 for the coming years. It's not subjective to say that is out of his league. Why? He is 23 and all other greats were comfortable in the top 3 by that age (big 4, Sinner, Alcaraz, Sampras, Borg, McEnroe etc). It would literally be unprecedented. Only Wawrinka cracked the top 3 but was at that level for 2-3 years, and not even converting that level in multiple Master titles / consistent level all year. But, anything below top 5 is maybe attainable. Also think about who he is going to replace in the top, all intrinsically better players.

@@henryaustine3012 That's the beauty about 🎾 is it doesn't always work that way. So player 1 can beat 2 who can beat 3 so you think 1 should beat 3 but not always. Sometimes the game style doesn't matchup well.

Machac is incredible, take nothing away from Sinner he kept his head in the big moments and pulled out some massive points which ultimately won him the match, but the ferocity of both players strikes, even their backhands - totally entertaining (though I wonder if Machac could keep it up for a best of 5) He's just come up against the two best players in the world and he's played like he's no.3 - Czechia have two gems in him and Mensik, it looks like there's more in store for the next generation than just Alcaraz and Sinner

machac will be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come. only 23 years old and has already beaten alcaraz and gave sinner a run for his money. also in that davis cup match against alcaraz he was well and truly on his way to victory if not for cramps stopping him. hits the ball with so much power and precision, plus that jumping spike ball was reminiscent of monfils.
