Well done Zhang for an overdue big victory. As for Medvedev, he seriously just cannot play very well on non-hardcourt surfaces. He's almost hopeless on natural surfaces at the best of times because of the slippery effect of stop-and-starting and changing direction which he hasn't mastered. On top of that, not knowing how to adapt to bad bounces. It's an amazing miracle that he was even able to make the semis of Wimbledon last year.
@elmoblatch9787
@elmoblatch9787 5 ай бұрын
If you are a Wimbledon semi-finalist, you can (by definition) play very well on a non-hardcourt surface.
@BrotherTree1
@BrotherTree1 5 ай бұрын
@@elmoblatch9787 Not necessarily, sometimes you can get lucky with a good draw in any surface. Getting one strong result on the surface doesn't mean you're good on the surface by default. If you can replicate the good results on the surface over and over again with various different draws, that's a different story. Daniil has not shown that winning consistency on both clay and grass courts, whereas he has on hardcourts.
@seanthompson8302

It's not a miracle really he made Wimbledon SF, it just shows how weak the tour is there are no grass specialists so basic grass players like Med go far because of a big serve
