Greetings my #GothMoths
First-time reaction to this weirdly wonderful band. I'm obsessed over how 1980's this is and the lead singers cry. #OMGoth!
Stay until the end for news on the next upload and an exciting new reaction channel!

My name is Nat and I am a gothic operatic singer, actor and voice artist based in the heart of Kent, England. Music has always played an important part in my life as a musician and I love to use my platform on KZbin to share it in my music reactions.
I work on the basis of a reaction should be just that, you don't get another crack at it! What you see from me is the real deal. I don't pre-screen anything I see or work from tight scripts. I'm completely open, emotive and sensitive with my audience.

Einar is one of the most amazing vocalists in metal, Beautiful and haunting. Thank you for your reaction, this band is something special.

It's my first time hearing them too. That was a very well-crafted song, also performed expertly. The drums and the melodic / harmonic instruments support and amplify the vocals and the main melody of the song. Then there is the dramatic, not overdone, use of metal growling. They're an impressive band.

Leprous is such an underappreciated band. They're so good. Einar is an amazing singer. You might be onto something by him being influenced by 80s pop. He recently did an A-ha cover- Manhattan Skyline if you're interested. Please do more Leprous reactions. "Below", "The Sky is Red" or anything really.

@@R3adybreck Exactly!! Plenty of bands who can't hold a candle to them have way more subscribers! I bullied all my relatives into subscribing to Leprous and make even the elderly relations to listen to them! With friends it's trickier as I'm cursed with mostly non-musical friends, but I'll keep trying to mould them into Leprous listeners.

I've been a (mostly) metal studio/session musician for 30+ years and I've never understood why heavy bands shy away from keyboards and people have the opinion that they're only for pop music. I love bands like Meshuggah, Jinjer, Killswitch Engage, etc. but Depeche Mode was writing synch-only music that was just as "heavy" decades back. Leprous are great at combining that synch sound with heavy 8-string guitars and producing gems like this one. So f*cking good! Stay safe everyone. Missed you, Nat. Cheers from Florida.

Alot of the scandanavian and european metal bands have keyboard players, there is a big culture of it in more classic/power metal inspired bands Anything from 'Firewind' to 'Amberian Dawn' to 'Children of Bodom' make great uses of keyboards And dream theater obviously but theyre american

The production team for this band is amazing. The live version of the song sounds better than the studio version. With these types of instruments and a voice that powerful that is not an easy thing to capture. Emotionally and technically. His voice is so emotionally diverse, the way he drops in and out of his head tone really gets to me every time I hear this song. It reminds me of yodeling.

I want Einar to sing me to sleep at night. His voice is beautiful. They did a cover of Massive Attack’s “Angel”, which is just lovely. But their drummer Baard is one of the best metal drummers at the moment. As far as another Leprous song, you might like “Below” or “Alleviate”. Or literally anything of theirs. Still hoping for a Jinjer reaction. 😁

Your reaction is always so refreshing and totally different, wonderful. And at 10:10 you saying stick to Opera.....Epic. But the concept of people in Opera loving progressive rock/metal/gotic music is something i discovered years and years ago. Since i love my Cavalli, Scarlatti, Monteverdi, Gluck and Händel etc. i was talking to a couple of opera singers (at 16). Me middle in my long hair days all dressed in black and blackalike (real real dark purple lol) and they talked about Iron Maiden, Zappa, Zeppelin, so that was a such a relieve. Since growling is a real "nono" in Opera.

Next week Transitus will be available, the new Ayreon album. Arjen published a few introduction videos over the last months and you know one of the singers. Simone Simons, this song is safe to react to, Arjen put it out there. 'This Human Equation' kzbin.info/www/bejne/onzaknWAoriIptU oh, Simone plays Angel of Death. You might find the voice of the Narrator strangely familiar, and yep, at 86 years, Tom Baker.

Ive seen that tour live in Oslo. They are awesome but the most boring stage performance because they let the vocalist lock himself to that keyboard throughout that set. It could just be on tape. He just flaps his left hand about. But who am I to criticise. Welcome back.
