Tension in Iceland Since Volcanic Eruption No. 7 Will Probably Start This Weekend

Icelandic Geology professors expect the eruption to start this weekend, if not tonight, so we can feel the growing tension as the media is tuning it up even more. But first and foremost we hope that Grindavik will not suffer further damage and the lava barriers by the Blue Lagoon and the Svartsengi Power plant will hold.
This video is just a little sample from my travels recently and it's plenty to come although the pending eruption and filming is is taking lot of my time these days.

I can only imagine the psychological strain of constantly waiting for another eruption to start, not knowing where or when or how much damage it will do. I lived in tornado alley in the US during my childhood, and I imagine it's a little like that during storm season, but even more extreme.

My husband and I arrived Iceland on October 24th and our first day was spent exploring near Grindavik and we had lunch in the town at the Bryggjan Grindavik restaurant. I will never forget this wonderful experience. And the next day our tour guide said that overnight there was an earthquake in the Reykjanes area So that was the start of this seismic ordeal that you folks have been dealing with ever since. We left Iceland a week later, before the eruption and we have been following events there ever since. We loved our time in your beautiful country and will return. We are in awe of your resilience and courage and we send you our deepest love and admiration . Iceland is a beautiful country with wonderful people and I am glad we came to visit.
