Tent Camping at June Lake ~ Inyo National Forest ~ Ep 78

We’re tent camping by the beautiful crystal clear June Lake in Inyo National Forest. June Lake is nestled into the mountains and the June Lake Campground is along the lake. We see a bald eagle catch a fish and we get our own grub on with chicken tacos for dinner and eggs and chorizo for breakfast with mimosas. In June Lake Village we go to June Lake Brewing for micro beers and Hawaiian food at Ohanas 395. Our typical roughing it while camping!

Sometime for a change instead of driving 395 merge right bt the fairgrounds inn Bishop onto Hwy 6....head north about a half hour to Rte 120 "Benton Crossing Hwy and take that hwy from the desert all the way up into the pines and come out at Mono Lake. IOts a beautiful and interesting drive with next to zero traffic.

Not sure about campgrounds, but as ypou drive thru the small Indian town of Benton there is a consignment store with natural hot spring fed wood hot tubs thqt are set up with privacy.@@tcsadventures

Wow June lake is beautiful. I'm in the bay area so lake Tahoe is about 2 hours away from me. June lake is about 2 hours more from lake Tahoe. I may never make it that far but thank you for showing that awesome lake to us.

We went mid July. We did get some rain while we were there, but that’s pretty unusual for the summer and it only rained for a short period. They did get some snow up at Mammoth this week and probably at June Lake too.

There was a fire burning at that time (there always is in CA now) and I think it was the Dexter fire. It wasn’t too far away but we didn’t get any smoke. We had light rain as we drove up and it rained pretty hard for an hour or so while we were there. I’m sure that helped. Thanks for watching!
