This song will always hold a dear place in my heart. I'll tell the story in case anyone cares to read. I spent the better part of my life being an atheist. The kind of atheist that knows the Bible very well, and will argue against Christians using it. But something was missing, and I knew it. I had money, I had a lot of beautiful women, but something was missing. I felt empty, miserable. I tried everything I could think of to find something that would fill the void, even trying witchcraft, but nothing would work. One night, I was trapped in deep despair, and I remember saying "God, please help me." Two days later, I met up with a woman with whom I was acquainted years before, but never spoke much to. Much to my surprise, we hit it off immediately. We had talked liked we'd been best friends for years. On my way home, this song played in a Switchfoot mix, and I knew what I was being told: "I am the Almighty. I love you. Won't you come to me now?" So I did. I can't remember the last time I've felt so complete. Two funny end notes: I told that woman the story and she said she believed it, because she had been telling God that she was lonely and was asking for a companion. She thinks I was a gift to her; it's funny because she's got it backwards. I don't deserve someone like her. The other note: I asked some of my teachers what they thought about the idea of God (I'm studying medicine, and I'm about the same age as some of my professors, so they're more willing to talk to me about things besides school work) and I figured that men and women with advanced science degrees would have something negative to say about it. They all said they can't see how people don't believe in God, one going as far as to say "Everything I taught you shows the great power of God". And I like to think what happened to me shows His great mercy. If anyone else has stories of His great mercy towards you, I'd love to hear them!

In the beginning God already knows who will be save and who will not by virtue of his wisdom. God prefers that Smart people will be save and learn from weak people who will not inherit the everlasting life at the end. Smart people can easily understand teachings of bible, making it obey God's Laws and avoid sins. Weak and less intelligent born people despite how they study bible, they cannot comprehend it, making them fell easily into deception and make sins and do some unpleasant to God. At the End: smart people who obeys God will be save and weak people who will not inherit everlasting life because their purpose only is an educational stuff for smart people (who was saved) that sins can cause chaos and death. So that in everlasting life Those smart people will not commit sins anymore because of what they've learned from weak people when they living on Earth. Question: So who is the unfair for all creature? Answer: God of the Bible himself

His gift is available to anyone who believes in Him. About the comprehending the Bible, we do not interpret the Bible for ourselves but the Holy Spirit makes everything clear to us. Some intelligent people read the Bible and still miss Jesus and His message. God is faithful, if someone who is not as intelligent/struggles to understand the Bible seeks Him with their whole heart, they will find Him. God will reveal Himself to those who seek Him. The people you're describing won't look at weak people in order to know what is right and wrong, the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin and helps us to change by transforming us. We can't keep the law and be "good" in our own effort, the Holy Spirit helps us to live godly lives.

I just got back from a mission trip to Mexico. Two days away from where I live, by car. Hardly any electricity; none on out worksites where we built houses. This song kept coming into my head. My uncle just committed suicide today and its really hard for me and my family. His mom will literally have a heartattack when she knows, my dad and mom are crying, and the worst part...he wasn't a Christian. I'm going to ask and see if I can sing this song at his funeral. i first heard this in folsom state prison on a lil radio walkman someone let me barrow, when i think bake to those nights lying in my cell im just so very grateful for His love, its true, He will never leave us or forsake us. i would lay up in my bunk and listen and talk to God and cry and i would feel His warm embrace as His Holyspirit would comfort me... words will not fully express the love i felt..
