I remember a couple of guys in my rc club had these back in the day. They were stunning in looks and speed, really advanced technology-wise and a ground breaker. Unfortunately I remember the early ones being pretty fragile and spending more time on the pit table being repaired compared to your average RC10, Losi or Schumacher. Congratulations Glenn on getting such a nice example. 👍😀

Yep. I "raced"" one back in the day. It was the most fragile car in existance to my knowledge. Within 3 months I switched to yokomo. Gool looks, poor durability, performance, and parts support.

I raced the X10 at club races here in the USA. Had bought an insane 10 (or 9?) turn hand wound motor for it. One driving mistake and the front rocker mounts, steering support, and wing mounts were toast. It was easily the best 4WD I'd ever driven on our clay tracks. So smooth, responsive, and ballistic acceleration. I've still got the raced chassis and one NIB that I treasure. I wonder what ever happened to the original parts molds? I've considered trying to 3D model the broken bits and try to print new parts if nothing else than to mend the old friend's bones.

X10 is a stunner and that's fantastic looking Glenn. That body looks really nice as well and you should drive it at least once as it sounds great and yep, it's super smooth. Shame we will never see a rere unfortunately and I know people have really tried to make that happen. I sold my X10 to RC Icons a while back as he made me an offer that I just couldn't turn down. I will snag an X11 at some point for the collection as these are special cars for sure.

I had one of the original predators with its seperate gearbox’s, spiral track diffs, disc wheel drives, alloy driveshafts (steel shafts were sent out to original customers as a free upgrade) and a 10mm diameter prop shaft… it was so fast and handled so well (for the time) but you couldn’t hit anything without breaking it. It launched me into my first major A final that I nearly won had I not clipped a slick tyre on the last lap breaking the front hub 🤦‍♂️(hero to zero) I modified mine by fitting wheel hex’s to use available wheels, I made a smaller 6mm prop to make space for the radio gear and esc I was using at the time, one way roller for turn in, reinforced the front wing and moved it forwards and down to act as a bumper, Because of the sales spike Richard who designed "The Pred" visited our club he was baffled why I had modified and change what he considered perfect, I pointed out to his university trained engineers brain, that he needs to sell the car to club racers like me to make any money. And we don’t need perfect works spec cars, He immediately brought out a smaller 6mm prop, wheel hex’s and a one way conversion, he gave me a Hudy com lathe diamond tipped tool as a thank you for my input and influence on sales around the area where I raced! Great memory’s

Raced the X10 and latterly the x11,they were as you said so quick. The acceleration was instant and was so planted at speed but as you said were very fragile. The x11 was better in many ways but we always suffered from stripped spur gears owing to poor transmission case tolerance but we had to modify them heavily in this area.

I have an x10 since 2006 (?) it is one of the cars I care about the most, I used it very very little because the spare parts from England were either rare or expensive and often both... I modified it to have "inboard" shock absorbers at the rear like at the front, it works very well. I have a big regret: not having bought an X11, at the time I had other obligations than to buy an rc at 500euro, yes I regret it...
