When a band sounds just as good or better live it shows that they don't pull any bullshit in the studio. This band is the real deal. Bravo.

Revisiting this after 3-4 years, it still sounds great! A throwback to solid musicianship and thoughtful songwriting, lyrics and harmony. Bravo! Reminds me of The Band.

I thought the same thing when i first heard them, and they kind of took it in a different direction as their careers went on. Which i respect, but their later stuff doesn't speak to me as much. That said, their musicianship and talent has always been top notch. Taylor is a great lyricist as well.

Music could be the most important thing in the world to me. Not necessarily just rock 'n roll. So I feel might ears are always open to discover new musical experiences. A Facebook posting from Levon Helm's wife led me to this song. I was unexpectedly floored. To quote BB King "Mighty young to be writing such heavy lyrics" And the music is fabulous. And like I've posted before whomever shot, edited and directed this concert did a really nice job and they should be commended for bringing this band to life, visually. Because it is true what another person posted; the crowd sucks. I watch this and I feel like I'm watching greatness in the making. Hopefully I'll see them for myself in the future

@2015beast Exactly. It's Dawes. You want a fuckin moshpit? If you look at Skynyrd's performance of Tuesday's Gone in '76 or '77, you don't see the crowd moshing or jumping around. Just a general respect and understanding of great music.

Sorry to be late to the party on Dawes.. Didn't know they existed till I saw them perform this incredible anthem on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Recorded it on a Hi-Def DVR and it's never coming off. How long has it been since an emerging 4-man band sounded this good live? Maybe U2 at the dawn of the '80s?

There were moments of dreams I was offered to save I lived less like a workhorse More like a slave I thought that one quick moment That was noble or brave Would be worth the most of my life So I pointed my fingers And shouted few quotes I knew As if something that's written Should be taken as true But every path I had taken And conclusion I drew Would put truth back under the knife And now the only piece of advice that continues to help Is anyone that's making anything new only break something else When my time comes Oh oh oh oh When my time comes Oh oh oh oh So I took what I wanted And put it out of my reach I wanted to pay for my successes With all my defeats And if Heaven was all That was promised to me Why don't I pray for death? Now it seems like the unravelling Started too soon Now I'm sleeping in hallways And I'm drinking perfume And I'm speaking to mirrors And I'm howling at moons While the worse and the Worse that it gets Oh you can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's starin' right back When my time comes Oh oh oh oh When my time comes Oh oh oh oh Well you can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's starin' right back When my time comes Oh oh oh oh When my time comes Oh oh oh oh When my time comes Oh oh oh oh
