Tenways CGO800S: How to record trips using the Tenways E-Bike App (How-to)

The Tenways CGO800S can record bike tours and log them in the manufacturer's app. This can be done either through the Auto-Record function or manually. If you prefer the manual version, you should follow the correct steps to ensure the route is recorded. All bikes from the Dutch manufacturer are equipped with Bluetooth, so even entry-level models can collect workout data.
To record a tour, open the free Tenways app, available in the App Store and Play Store. Once the bike is turned on, the CGO800S connects to the smartphone. The Bluetooth connection is indicated both in the app and on the bike display. Tenways uses two chain links connected together on the bike display to visualize successful pairing. In the app, tap on the speed-menu to open the recording window. The ride overview shows the current speed, average speed, and top speed. Once the red Record button is pressed, the bike records the route. Whether you prefer to use the automatic or manual function for recording is up to you. For the manual option, make sure to pair your smartphone to avoid data loss. This might sound like a bit much, but once you do it 2-3 times, it becomes a habit. For one, I don't start riding until the connection between my smartphone and the app is established. Is my boyfriend, who never tracks his rides, the first one ready to ride? Yes. Is he as well informed about the stats as I am? No. Does this really benefit me in the long run? Oh yes! It all comes down to data collection. There are two levels to that: personal data and bike data.
You could use your Apple Watch to record workouts, but you would miss out on a lot of data specific to the bike's usage. While calories aren't that important, the bike learns how long it will last while you are riding it. This information benefits you in the long term and helps you plan your rides better. If you ask me, every trip should be recorded in the app.
A ride not recorded can be quite annoying, depending on how serious you are about tracking your rides. That’s why I always use manual recording.
Once you reach your destination, you can end the recording through the app. Press and hold the red Stop button to finish the recording, which likely prevents accidental early termination. After successfully completing the tour, the app will show that the ride data is being uploaded. Make sure not to close the app immediately to avoid data loss. Each recorded bike tour helps the app to provide more accurate range estimates. The app also collects statistics on CO₂ reduction with each ride. By taking the time to manually track each ride, you get accurate results in all areas. Whether it’s the ride to the train station, the bakery, or school: The CGO800S records how fast you are, the distance covered, and approximately how many calories you've burned. Currently, the Tenways CGO800S is available directly from the manufacturer for 1,899 Euros. Tenways offers one size to fit people with a height range of 155 to 190 Centimeters. The Front fork features a Suspension and the breaks do their job - as you can witness in the video. The bike's brakes don't squeak and are correctly adjusted from the factory. I had some really bad brakes in the past and the those on the CGO800S are winning them all over. It boasts a range of up to 100 km, has a step-through frame, and features a removable battery.
