This is another interesting way to make the diagonal blanket. I am making my second, and I will stop when I have a small ball of yarn left. The last time I went to the end of the yarn skein, thinking that the second half would use exactly the same amount. I was not finished, and had to stop to make a move between 2 countries. When I picked it up again, months later, I ran out of yarn before finished, which is what someone else has said. The yardage might not be exactly the same but also your gauge could change. If you know you can buy a third skein that is a perfect match (I had used Red Heart Soft for a baby, easy to get more) then you are in luck :) Or you can have fun playing yarn chicken. We all try it! Just plan ahead for how you want to keep your simple but beautiful project SIMPLE!

I have 7 balls of Ribbon yarn from hobbii.de in 7 different colors. I want to make this kind of baby blanket for my daughter. The instruction label says that I must use 8mm needle. So in this case, do I still cast on 3 stitches or less or more? Also, when do I start with the decreases?
@TeoMakes6 жыл бұрын
Yes, you still start with three stitches cast on and you keep going with increases until you’ve used up half of your yarn, so about 3 and a half skeins, start decreases when you’re half way through your 4th skein
@lubnarahman6136 жыл бұрын

This is similar to the dish cloth pattern. That one is cast on 4 then k2, yarn over, knit to the end of the row. When you’re decreasing k1, k2 together, yarn over, knit to the end. This creates a 2 stitch border.

anniescraps hi Annie, if you want to make a blanket with a border, all you need to do is start every row with knit 2 stitches, then do 1 kfb (this is a knit front back in one stitch = 1 increase) and then knit the rest of the stitches to the end, turn your work and repeat the same thing until you finish 1 Caron cake. For the decrease section, at the beginning of every row start with knit 2 stitches, then *k 1, knit 1 more and pass the first knitted stitch over the second * (* to * is a decrease ), knit to the end and repeat this until you are left with 3 sts, bind them off
