Peanuts require really warm days AND nights and high humidity to produce well. I grew up on a farm where we grew peanuts. My uncle was one of the top peanut research scientists in Alabama and then Georgia in the 1970s and 80s.

Zone 9a Houston, here. I want to thank whichever neighbor was feeding raw peanuts to the squirrels, cause they buried them in my yard. They sprouted, I transplanted to my garden, now I'm the neighborhoods leading peanut farmer. Funny story, in my surprise i showed my husband. He said, "look it's already growing a peanut!" Bless his heart it was the poorly buried nut still atop it's own sprout. That poor man thought it had already beared one single, perfect, double peanut shell! I had to break the news that the new nuts grow underground. And then we both laughed heartily at his expense!

@Ия'Артмали я в этом году взяла и сделала. При том, что лето было очень жаокое и орехи я высаживала рассадой, ничего не получилось. "На осинке не растут апельсинки"... и это верно. В нашем климате можно много чего вкусного и полезного вырастить, адаптированного к нашему климату. И не стоит занимаь гоядку и тратить свое время на то, что к этому климату не приспособлено. Лучше бы я там посадила клубнику и собрала пару веде, или морковь. Жаль потраченного времени. Блогеры на на такой ерунле зарабатывают лайки и деньги, а мы, уши развесили и тратим свои силы.

без проблем растёт как цветок на окне но не факт что дождётесь урожая ему надо до 160 дней хорошей солнечной тёплой погоды .на огороде тоже пробовала и рассадой и орешками до урожая не разу не дожил малюсенький заморозок его убивает а при холодной пасмурной погоде он не растёт сидит полу дохлый только нервы портит .а вообще несколько кустиков посадить стоит цветёт красиво

Hi Wendy, I've been gardening for 4 years now so here's my tips: If you're growing veggies "In-ground", water them every other day not every day because plant roots must go deep in order for the plant to grow healthy. A little stress won't kill your plants but in my opinion will help their defenses against pest.

é bem baixo o custo basicamente vc usa terra fértil, misturada com um pouco de areia (2 partes de terra pra uma de areia) as sementes vc pode tanto retirar de amendoins como o do vídeo, quanto comprar sementes tratadas, que tem taxa de germinação maior. a germinação pode ser feita dessa maneira (eu até prefiro) ou direto na terra. de resto é só regar até as folhas começarem a amarelar e secar.

Thank you, i am so pleased to see your video. I understood peanuts grew. From the flowers when pollinated under the soil, but from the video it appears your s grew directly from the roots. Also i think the green material laid on top of the soil stops weeds, but would allso stop flowers penetrating the soil. Would realy appreciate a reply noel new zealand.

Here we actually call them groundnuts because they grow in the grounds from the roots as a product of the stem under ground just like carrots

Это скорее всего во Вьетнаме, Лаосе или Камбоджи. На этой широте нет привычных нам сезонов. Там сезон дождей и сухой сезон сменяют друг друга, и всё, а температура сильно не опускается.

But there is no need to pour chemicals in soil for shell, chemical mostly sprayed on leaves to save from leaf miner. For fungal disease fungicide sprayed on leaves.

They dont spray the roots. Just the leaves which do not transfer to the root. Read actual science studies, NOT information put out by groups with agendas. I'm a biochemist that does, free, independent studies, with several other scientists. This means, no agenda. Peanuts have almost no carcinogens, testing equal to coconuts.

Я в этом году садила арахис, но с одного орешка и выросла одна веточка - кустик. Цветёт красиво, ярко жёлтыми цветами, я поливала рыхлила, но урожай слабенький с кустика 5 - 6 фасолинок, да и то не все вызрели. Вот думаю в следующем году больше орешков в ямку положить, не рыхлить, может и поливать мало, а обложить картоном вокруг кустиков. Вообще то интересно! Я видела впервые у себя новое растение, не наелась, но впечатлилась. Наверное этот человек чем то подкармливал необычным? У меня только компост. Видео впечатлило, дай Бог ему здоровья!

What peanuts are one of the cheaper nuts? Well unless you live in the US where you need a federal license to grow them. And obtaining such a license is impossible. Pretty much not given out a license since the 40s. So the farms that got licenses pretty much got monopoly on the marked. US pays on average 50% more for peanuts than the rest of the world :P When talking about expensive nuts here in Norway, we usualy talk about Cashew and Pistach. Peanuts you can get a whole bag of salted roasted peanuts for as little as 1.5 dollar.

After harvesting & cleaning, roast in single layers on cookie sheet or they can give you a stomach ache. Temperature 300 for 25-30 minutes. Your home will small delicious.

Hi there. It also brought back memories of my early teenage years in Marikina valley, Philippines in the 80's when life is lean. We are blessed to have survived as we are one of the few to move early to that subdivision when houses are few and far between. We used the surrounding empty lots (for about a decade until nearly all lots were purchased and more houses developed) by planting different fruits and veggies including tomatoes, corn and peanuts. We also dug a huge fishpond where a variety of freshwater fishes and even escargots get regularly transferred to it (also to spawn) by shallow floods each time a nearby river would rise during rainy seasons.

Do they grow naturally in the Philippines by river or were they planted?

@@travb8670 Hi there, the peanuts and other veggies we planted them in the vacant lots just near the fishpond that we dug (which is just adjacent to our house). During wet season, the rain kept the soil moist and in dry season we just water them a few minutes daily using a long plastic hose and the sun does the rest to make them grow :)

My daughter loves boiled peanuts, but raw peanuts are so expensive to buy! I think I can grow them maybe, in the short growing season we have here in Northern NY, USA. Thank you for sharing how to do it, and cheaply to. I love how you make use of stuff people usually throw away! I'm going to make myself a big dirt scoop like you have, too! Great idea!

I have grown peanuts here in NYC in a large pot. It worked fine. However, if you feel like the time might not be long enough, you can start them in doors and plant them out the week after Mother's Day or plant them under a hoop house in mid to late April depending on the temperature you can generate in the hoop house. For sure, fresh peanuts are great.

Looked it up, the temperature needs to be around 65 degrees F for the peanuts to geminate and the best temperatures 86 degrees or higher to grow. Also they need around 120 days to grow to full size. The plant starts flowering in about 6-8 weeks after it start to grow. The peanuts grow from the flowers after they reach the soil. I live in a very cold area, so I plan to put them in posts that I can later partly bury in my vegetable garden. Also read the comment by Ram Z about how often to water. (If you live in an area that measure temp by centigrade, you can convert it by chart in YT.)
