When you remove the sticker on the touchpad the dial pad shows up better. I have the high end one with the the Ryzen 9, 32GB of memory. I am a touch typist that types > 75 words per minute on a regular computer. This keyboard doesn't slow me down - works very well. The smaller numeric keypad takes a little bit to get used to because it having a smaller footprint. I don't see the hit that you can't charge using the type-C - not many places that would be a requirement, especially with the battery lasting as long as it does. Charge it at night using the supplied cable. The only thing that I see is that it's not thunderbolt - which may or may not be an issue depending on your requirements. If that's important to you, get the Intel version and you'll have all of this capability.

I recently purchased this exact model laptop, it was on offer for just under £1000 including carriage. For the money it fits my needs and the display is amazing, I guess the ports are the only let down but for the price a paid, not a deal breaker. I played Forza Horizon 4 with everything set to max, I was getting around 30 fps, it coped well albeit it did get loud and hot after about 5-10 minutes of play, but that’s to be expected I guess. (I’m not intending to do any real game play on this machine anyway). A good and fair review.

Worth mentioning - even if with AMD you're losing QuickSync, you still have NVEnc on the Nvidia Ampere card. Apps may (or may not) be able to use both encoders in tandem for multiple video streams, but you aren't just left without a hardware video encoder with AMD! Also, the R9 5900HX still has integrated graphics and still will have a hardware video decoder, although it's the Vega version which is worse than either NVEnc or Quick Sync.
