what standalone drawing tablet would you recommend to someone with a budget of $300~400 or less? the primary use would be animation (flipaclip & probably capcut for editing). i've watched a lot of reviews and a lot of people mention the jittery/wobbly lines & how the pen isn't that great. is there a drawing tablet out there that has smooth lines & a decent-ish pen? also, it'd be a plus if it had a hdmi port like i've seen some of these have ^^ thank you for your review =:D!

I was about to recommend Apple iPad 10 when I realised usd 350 only has 64GB storage and Apple Pencil is another $100. Check the refurbished Apple store to see if you can get it close to $400. Items there are usually 15% off official retail price. Otherwise maybe 2nd hand Samsung Tab S8 if you can find that at a good price.

Can you review the Innocn 27p1u Pro? , it is a 27 inches touchscreen monitor with active pen support, I'm very interested but I'd like to see an artist review, maybe it supports third party pens with more pressure sensitivity, or see how good is the initial pressure activation of the pen that comes included.

There are a bunch of monitors with stylus input, like Expressi. I also found out about the Newline flex 27, a 27 inch gorgeous monitor with an MPP stylus. Asus has some as well.

Hey Teoh, I have watched you for years, I'm looking for a tablet to have that doesn't need a computer to use for drawing and anime watching goodness. Would you recommend this tablet which I've been eying on for awhile or the Furusi brand better if you have used Furusi before?

Frunsi and PicassoTab are quite similar in quality. The next level is Tab S6 Lite 2022 which is smaller but has better drawing performance. Next would be iPad 9, Samsung Tab S7 FE, Tab S9 FE. It really depends on your budget.

The fact that you have to wear an artists glove for this is a massive flaw. Sure, it's a small item, but if you're ever out with the tablet and happen to forget the you're screwed. That's nuts.

I have the XL and I just put the glove between the screen and case so I don't forget. As for the battery, I got a rechargeable set with a portable USB charger, for like $10. So I always have a charged battery with me as well.

How does it hold up on technical, architectural, and engineering drawing? Palm rejection is an issue.

S6 lite. The pen is far superior on the samsung, looking at this video.

@@2DAnimax lag is the smaller issue imho. It's that jittery pen tip that's bothering me. The spen is far more stable. Granted I have no experience with the S6 lite. I'm using an S8 Ultra. I'd guess the s6 lite and the s8 ultra uses similar tech. And the pen isn't battery powered, well it is but not the drawing part. Only the bluetooth functionality depends on the pen being charged, pen pressure and detection is independent from that. Battery powered pens have always been jittery.

When is the Sasmsung tab S9FE/+ review dropping Teoh? I have to make a purchase decision for I wanna draw using an android tab on my pc through superdisplay or samsung secondscreen (not going with traditional display tablet for portability) and can't decide between S7FE(4gb 330$), S9FE+ (8gb 450$) and S8+(690$ likely overbudget for me). Anyone else's opinion is also welcomed!

Very soon. Since the Tab S8+ is too pricey compared to the S9FE+, S9FE+ is the better option. Here in Singapore, the price difference isn't that big so it's actually worth it to spend a bit more for all the features of Tab S8.

For casual drawing, sketching it works fine. It's the diagonal line wobble that affects line precision. So chances are you will have to increase the line smoothness but that will increase latency

I just got my Picasso tab xl and I downloaded the concepts app... Is there a way to have the concepts app open and the video app open at the same time, so I can watch videos and do what the video is teaching me at the same time?

I can't remember if there's split screen mode for that tablet. You can swipe up into the multi-app mode and see if there is split screen available. Usually there is small icon at the top of the active apps.

Pity about the palm rejection issues and AA batteries in a stylus is dated in 2023. But it's a really good price. I find the name PicassoTab ironic; imagine Picasso painting his famous bull on this, only to get frustrated with palm rejection issues getting in his way.

@@maurorenard82 Used galaxy tabs do go for under that price. Lets say Tab s6 lite you can get under 200, and Tab s7fe sometimes under 300 euro if you're lucky. From what I've seen those are like, the best for you money options for drawing on the go, especially if you want Wacom EMR, which has endless choice of pens. Now there's older Tab s4 which you can also get for cheaper but I'm always afraid of oled burn-in.

@@suspensefulnesshonestly 10” isn’t that bad to draw on. I have the s6 lite it’s prettier comfortable, not too big, not too small, especially when thinking about portability. I have a 2 in 1 laptop with a 15” screen and honestly I find it borderline uncomfortable when on the go. Even when I use superdisplay to use it as a monitor csp drawings I don’t find I have much a problem with screen size

The 128 was just 220, just an idea for price range. It’s a pretty good one. Though I’ve just been using it for art, planning and media consumption. Gotten up to 16 hours of on screen time before so the battery is pretty good too

quite interested in this, the price is good, the drawing limitations don't bother me much, portability is great... until I see the battery powered stylus. AAAA batteries, I've already had enough of this crap from my Surface stylus. Urgh. Nope, just nope.

I like that the batteries are removable. I've many digital stylus with built in batteries and a good number has malfunction due to battery problem. What's more important is the pen performance. But of course those are mostly review units and I don't use them often so maybe that's why the batteries have deteriorated. What's wrong with your Surface Pen? The battery life should be months

@@teohontech7141 Well they are very hard to get where I live... like, non existed. Except for a camera shop that knows this battery size, but is not selling them anymore, none of the electronics/computer shops have them nor even heard of them. I ended up buying from the online stores, but they didn't last as long as expected, most likely they are fake/imitations. I prefer stylus that don't need batteries.

I got a set of rechargeable batteries and a USB charger for like $10 or so. I always have a back up charged battery with me when traveling with my PicassoTab. I've been using the XL and plan on upgrading to this very soon.
