This was a very informative and detailed guide into a sorc. For someone like myself who is looking at trying out a caster type class in an MMO, this guide is more or less a must watch. I would have personally liked a bullet point recap at the end of the lesson so we can review what we learned, along with a more structured video with points in the description clickable to skip to areas of interest (EG, mana issues and such) Overall, a great guide and something I'll watch over and over

@neekax3 the glyphs are entirely preference for your play style, you may not have mana issues if you glyph the other spells to have reduced mana costs, or if you have trouble spamming spells, depending on the fight. also depends on whether or not you'll have a mystic around, but if you'd rather have downtime between spells and re-locate the points to something you want more, its better to do that.

I can tell you love this game by the time you put into all of these guides, which makes me excited to play. The competitive WoW arena scene is dead and only getting deader but watching your videos has sold me on the game. You should get a cut from En Masse or something. @AWhimsicalSky I cant say with 100% certainty but every glyph guide I have read states that %chance to proc a skill does not consume mana or the cool down. Which is why the glyph to proc mana barrier is considered op when using retaliate.

@ckxHGT seems like any damage dealt after you use overchannel consumes the overchannel, i don't think lightning trap actually does damage though.

Some Glyphs have ranks to them also. The one you buy in Velika is of the lowest rank and the highest will be rare drops from dungeons.

Yea, some guide for WoW did that too. They take some stuff people say on youtube and the forums, throw in some pictures and boom they got a guide to sell. Sadly, there really isn't anything you can do about it. But, that being said, I love these guides and you are helping me out a lot!

I actually made a sorc guide myself for skill rotation while burst of celerity is up. Since then is the point where you want to get the most spells in. After it goes down it is just a matter of keeping the CDs in line and getting your MP back up for a jump back into the rotation. And I completely understand about the lucky lancers, is why I learned how to tank as a sorc.

Great vid! Just to note: Overchannel will be consumed on a tick of Hail Storm if you pop it while it's down..kinda frustrating, I sometimes accidentally hit it out of habit when it's down. Your rotation after using Burst of Celerity is quite accurate. Arcane pulse also has two glyphs that MAY make it viable in pve/pvp: one that allows you to move while charging, another that doubles your crit chance for 4s after casting it. I have yet to test those glyphs though

Racials are really a 'bonus' thing that has very little impact on basic gameplay. I have an Elin sorcerer who kicks much butt and a friend has a High Elf Sorcerer. I've never noticed any difficiences between the two when glyphed the same.

Question: Lightning trap has a powerlink glyph for Fireblast that increases skill damage by 20%. If you use overchannel -> lightning trap -> fireblast, does the trap eat the overchannel? Or would overchannel only take effect on the trap when the trap is triggered? Thanks.

** I have a question about the Glyph of Resolution for Burst of Celerity. On that Russian website that has the calculator, the Glyph of Resolution only increases cast speed by 10% but in the video you said something to the effect of, "once glyphed, Burst of Celerity reduces animation speed by 70%." I guess, my question is, did they change the glyph since you made this video or just something wrong with the calculator on the site?

@DreifachZwei They were the same level as me, fireball is a terrible spell for damage and really shouldn't be used at higher levels at all, was just showcasing it. fireblast was nearly one shotting the boars though! (did oneshot when it crit)

I see this question pretty often. I don't know what Domeran uses, most (that I know of) use FRAPS or something similar. FRAPS is free and good but can absolutely destroy your frame rate if you're comp is relatively powerful.

just a bit of a tip,you can activate overchannel,and then use mindblast as overchannel only has an effect on damaging attacks. That combined with the fact that mindblast does not initiate aggro makes this even more useful, combine that knowledge with the speed of celerity,and you're good to go. edit- you follow up mindblast with the "ring of fire" xD

depends on your glyph setup and/or gear(havent played zerk/slay more than 12 lvls), but based on tera codex, sorc has void pulse(one quick shot) and fireblast(crazy long cost time), though im wondering why 48 is listed as the turning point for sorc when at 28 you get the mighty FB(opener when soloing)

I'm not sure if I was able to grab them all. 2) I've noticed that some skills like Glacial Retreat can be glyphed to have x% chance to trigger Overchannel. In such a case where OC is used this way, does it still consume mana and eat up cooldown (as you would if you cast it yourself)?

Hi Domeran, thanks for the sorc guide. I do have a quick question though: from what I read, mana shield has 2 glyphs that can decrease the cd and increase dura so that you basically have to only wait something like 5 secs between mana shields before you can cast it again (this is assuming that the mana shield isn't broken and lasts its full duration). Which glyphs would you recommend replacing should I choose to use those? If you don't recommend them at all, can you give me an explanation?

I tried the xbox controller and it works flawless with tera. Everything is mapped easily. With the wide aoe on most every spell/ability the controller fits nicely. You only need to touch the keyboard if you wanted to type or use the mouse with in the menus.

Try Mystic for support healing and range damage and to support your party members in general. Or try a healer for just pure healing. Or try a Sorcerer or an Archer for Good high range damage! Good luck my friend! :)

Also wanted to add you say it's impossible to dodge Flaming Barrage... but it is possible to dodge. I know for a fact slayers/warriors can use there Evasive roll when the skill has been shot and before it hits them.

Beside, fireball atk can be really good with good crystal and speed buff when you cast all your 1st line skill, then wait for their CD (love chain crit at 30k on boss every half second ^^)

well thank goodness for that. Void Pulse is easily my most important filler ability. Tons of damage, high speed, and handy against tough targets that need tenderising before I hit them with the Fireblast

It doesn't really matter but elves have an extra mana restore ability. Though it's on a 1 hour cool down so like I said it doesn't really matter.

pretty sure rout and snare is the same thing. target is not silenced, jsut routed in place, able to cast, normal attack, but not move in any way, be it blinks or jumps/dashes... where is the difference if there is any?
