I would like to see you review it again after using it for a season. My first one lasted 2 seasons before it stopped pumping. It still runs fine, but no suction. The second one lasted 1 season before the automatic shutoff stopped working. It still pumps like a champ, but I have to shut it off manually.

You cannot believe how timely this video is. Down here in Brazoria County (south of Houston) we have been without power for about 5 days now due to Hurricane Nicholas. I bet I spilled a half gallon of gas every time I gas up each one of these generators keeping them running 24 hours a day. I just ordered one just like yours. Thank you!
@JohnSmith-yv6eq3 жыл бұрын
See if your generator has an engine/vacuum driven fuel pump on it already; and if so, buy yourself an outboard motor gas tote... plus the fitting to adapt it into the generator's fuel line so that you can use the outboard tote @ 6 gallons a time.... Then you can have the original fuel tank as the reserve...when the tote runs out, switch the original tank on...you'll then have enough time to disconnect the tote and go get 6 gallons of gas.... no spill no fuss much longer run time. But keep an eye on the engine oil level when running longer....
@DCS0263 жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-yv6eq Good idea. The 5000 watt Generac holds about 7 gallons and that will run it for about 10 hours. I could adapt a 12 gallon boat tank and get an additional 12 hours or better. We went almost 5 days without electricity. That extra tank would have been nice to have. Since this about the 4th time in recent years we have went extended periods of time without electricity, we have decide to go with a whole house generator powered by propane. Camping out is one thing, but this is not good. The generator will go back to our hunting cabin in the hill country where we also have extended power outages. Thank you for your suggestion.

I just use the Harbor Freight pump. They are retail $12.99, but are often on sale for $6 or so. Right now they are $6 and some change for Inside Track members. That one has some nice features with the automatic cutoff. Biggest thing I don't like is the thin flimsy hose. I found out about these when I was without power for over 9 days and having to constantly fill my generators.

I have one of those which I got through Tractor Supply store and use it to fuel up my lawn mowers and utility tractors and it is nice for my mowers, but it don't work too well with my tractors though as I have to lift the fuel container up high enough to sit where the hose will go to the fuel tank on the top of the tractor. I will be checking out your links for the ones with the longer hose.

I have 5 5 gallon gas cans that I use for storage. From those I fill up a 2 gallon can and several 1 gallon cans for fueling various mowers, trimmers, generators, chainsaws, mini bikes and go karts etc. I like that this pump has automatic shutoff, other than that I'm not sure it's worth the 60 to 70 bucks I see it selling for.

Been using one of these for several years now to fill up my diesel mowers. I've never used it for pumping gasoline so can't say how long they will last. but in my experience the flow rate drops fairly fast as the pump wears. They still work mind you but take longer to fill the tanks as the pumps wear. I've been using mine for three years now and the flow is approximately 1/4 what it was when new. Still beats trying to hold 5 gallons of diesel while trying to pour without spilling it.

On your Husqvarna mower there are pin/bolts that hold the handle, the backdoor and the tension spring in place. They are held in by an e-clip. You should put a new clip on both sides and make sure the bolt is as tight as it needs to be. I say this because mine fell out in the spring this year and the manufacturer has not stocked any more as of yesterday. Husqvarna Lawn Mower Handle Pivot Bolt.

I have seen these at tractor supply going on 10 years maybe a little longer than that. The only thing that ever stopped me from buying it was the high price. And I wasn't certain if it would work as advertised. After watching your video I think I'm going to give it a try. God knows I could have used this pump back in the 1980s when I was drag racing every weekend. Sometimes I got More Cam 2 on me or in the trunk then I did in the fuel cell. I even bought one of those ridiculous looking funnels that looks more at home on a battleship than it does in the trunk of a mustang with a fuel cell. Even back in the '80s everybody would tell you that you couldn't use the gas can that you could buy at that time heckinger's Home Depot wasn't around here at that time. Everybody said that the race gas would destroy the can it wasn't made to carry that. Now this was back in the '80s there was no internet you learned from other people or trying it yourself or perhaps one of the hot rod magazines would do a story on something about it. I can't hit the subscribe button again I'm already following you but I made sure to always hit the like button. Look forward to your next video.

The Tera Pump Is awesome! The one thing you need to know is your gas container needs to be lower than the tank you are filling. If the container is higher the gas will keep flowing because it starts a syphon. I found this out because when I was filling a gas tank on my pontoon I had the container on the seat and the tank on the boat was lower and it kept flowing even though the pump shut off after the tank was full.

The manufacturer says the jugs aren't made for gasoline, they are intended for use with "racing fuels", meaning gas with added octane boosters or added nitromethane, if they will handle that they will work fine for regular gas. I think their statement is for liability reasons since the racing cans don't have those obnoxious safety nozzles that are required for home gas cans.

I just purchased this and was kind of disappointed because you can’t keep it on the gas can when finished pumping. Instructions say that you have to disassemble the pump from the supply tank and remove batteries when not in use. I figured I’d follow the instructions and 1. Where do you store it then, without it getting dirty. 2. When you disassemble it and pull it out of the supply tank, fuel drips all over the place. You should be storing with batteries removed as well. That was a horrible experience for me. I would have loved to just keep it attached to the gas can till the can was empty. I believe the pump and hose deteriorates when stored improperly. A lot of customers complaining about how long it lasts…this may be the reason.

Looks like a neat idea, BUT, electricity and gas don't go well together. If that motor creates any sparks you could end up with a nasty fire on your hands. I know it's low voltage but even low voltage can produce sparks. I'm just wondering what types of safety checks have been done on this device and if this uses a brushless motor ? Has it been approved by any recognized safety organization? I don't want to be negative, I'm just thinking about possible issues that one would hope does not ever and can't possibly happen. There can be a lot of pressure and vapour built up in tanks during hot weather and a spark inside a tank and boom !! I just hope this thing is well insulated and no sparks can be created to cause any issues. Just saying !! Edit :- I did just look at this on the Amazon site and it appears to be safety approved but don't take my word for it find out for yourself before buying or using one !!
