Tera - (SSHM Lancer) Shadow Sanguinary Hard Mode Nightmare Imperator (1st clear)

Here is my 1st time clearing sshm (pre-nerf) on lancer when this dungeon released during ninja patch. I didn't do as well dps'ing at times but It felt good to finally get that 1st clear after hours and hours of wiping with different teams. I think I messed up at the last cage at the end there thinking I had debuffs in cage but I did not. I put some notes in my video of different situations during the fight as it can be helpful for people still trying to clear this.
My gear is full starfall with weapon/gloves both +15 and rest +12.

Loved healing this boss, had some skill ceiling for priest vs mystic where priest could skip a mechanic if skilled enough in timeing their divine intervention.

What really annoys me about tera is that the elin race gets 2 classes that are awesome. Also that a tiny little elin can be a lancer? R u serious. I really wish that tera can be a bit more realistic. But I guess it is just a fantasy game:P

do you think leaching the mobs and grouping them is a good idea or should i just leave them as is and congrats on first clear that was really good

well sadly its not possible to group them in hard mode. Brawler, lancer and warrior chains don't work. I think it's best to be ready and spread out to get the mobs. I think ninjas are the best at getting 3 mobs at a time if they're skilled. And thanks :)

hi im new to the game, is races consider a thing in picking a lancer, like what i read earlier saying elin and Mhighelf have a thing or two of advantages to other races, thx for your feedback

Apologize for the delayed response. I think pvp wise race matters but I don't pvp a lot. In pve elin has the longest reach of spring attack. And I think high elf has the fastest shield barrage (not 100 percent sure since I didn't try this race). Other than that mostly race isn't a big issue in pve. Aman/amani have a bit more endurance.

Do you edit your s1engine file? if you did it, can i have it? please im struggling with the FPS sometimes. What PC specs do you have?

At this time of recording, I did have a modified s1engine on my older pc. I can provide that when I get home later today. That pc (from 2011) was using i7 960, 6 gb ram, amd r9 270 2GB on windows 8.1. However, when I got windows 10 on same pc, it was not the same experience and had a lot of fps issues but still manageable. I have a new pc now with i5, amd 480x 8gb video card on windows 8.1, 16 gb ram and have a totally different s1engine but not that much modified since this pc handles tera so well without modifications but can share that one as well. The one with my old pc, I followed the ones that were from the ktera. I can't remember where I got those from but it was from those guides somewhere on teratoday's website.

Here I uploaded 2 different s1engines: www.diffchecker.com/X4WapKJm Mostly you want to focus on the bsmoothframerate and turn it off as it gives fps boost. Only high end pcs can have this on and do fine. Also change anything that says "AllowD3D11" or "AllowD3D12" to false. You may have to play around with different areas depending on your system. If you have an AMD system, Tera tends to struggle more than it would on Intel and I learned that the hard way. Depending on your system, you may have to adjust some things. why you take that red debuff once when he puts sword on ground and light appear you took it once why ? do you have any guide for this ?

Are you talking about the one where he says, "Dakuryon is retargeting". If so, that's the one where whoever is closest to the boss, gets a 2 minute debuff. Other people took it before me because they were closer to the boss. I took it once because when he keeps doing that phase later on, my 2 minute timer wasn't up yet. If I took a 2nd debuff while my 1st debuff is still active, he would stab me and throw me at someone and I'll die. Usually this is easy to rotate with everyone in party as long as not many ppl die.

And obviously it took me a lot of practice to learn, I'd say a bout 20-25 hours. I recommend watching the guide by SushiGMS as well. I hope those are helpful.

ohh that one. sorry lol. So when boss is under 40 percent and any cage he does, ppl will get a debuff. If you see, I have a green looking icon show up somewhere on top right under my charms. You'll see there is 4 on there, kinda hard to see. That icon showed up once cage was summoned when boss is under 40 percent and he has two stacks of power buff. So you see I have 4 and need to get rid of them. To do that, the person has to get hit by the red zone. If you leave one or more, you die after a few seconds when cage is over. It's a cage debuff. You'll see as I get hit, the number starts decreasing. Yeah at first this was confusing for me as well.

Yes, Lancer is the tanking class. Lancer draws aggro with its attacks and permanent stat modifiers on the weapon.

BatmanSpideyDa3rd Alright thanks. Don't you think it's cool that Tera actually included agro in its mechanics a large majority of games just make it so mobs and bosses just attack the closet person to it.

Yes, what BatmanSpideyDa3rd mentions. Actually any class can draw aggro with it's damage. But having a tank in party with aggro skills can have control over mobs or bosses to make it easier for the rest of the party for maximum up time. Tank has to keep up their skills so aggro on their side doesn't decay to a point where it switches to others.

This video is a bit old but most rotations I use now are same or better. Usually when starting a boss, I focus on getting some attacks in such as shield barrage + spring attack to get some aggro generation. Then infuriate the boss for enrage status, Guardian shout + adrenaline rush. Shield barrage + spring attack most used skill. Followed by Shield counter + spring attack or shield counter + wallop, etc depends on boss's attacks really. Debilitate is also part of the rotations as you can also cast spring attack from that as well and important to keep defense debuff on boss. There is a lot of canceling involved. Whenever most of my skills are on cd and it's safe, I use onslaught in between as it's pretty good dps filler skill. If ping is high, onslaught not good to use.

How are you guys hitting so damn fast on your shield barrages

Well I think it's because I have 100+36 base attack speed. There are number of factors that can contribute to it. Gear rolls with 9 percent atk speed, t3 energetic etchings, priest's energy stars buff during the fight, and bravery potion. Adrenaline rush adds a lot of speed for 20 seconds.

Oh no problem. For the most part yes more speed the better so it's easier to keep lancer passive (hold the line). Some lancers go with more damage. Speed is good with cd reduction to maximize skills and rotations. I suppose if you're still leveling lancer, you won't get to see everything until getting to level 65. I'm actually already level 65 , just that I'm having trouble with slaughter gears . :/ I try hard not to to let it get to me but it's hard always letting my team down because I can't tank well or stay alive . So yeah . Thanks a lot ! I'll check it out .

Try to make sure your gear are rolled properly and keeping up rotations while blocking at the right time is key. It takes time and practice. When I was still learning back in the days, sometimes I would watch lancer vids of a certain dungeon fight if I wanted to learn better. It helped me a lot.
