Maybe the numbers shows that most play female characters because over half the classes (and the most op ones) are the gender locked ones.. So Tera is basically pulling their "Gender fav numbers" from their game because they only add female classes. Which only furhter increases the female gender in the game..

Its always some dorky ogre/giant/orc thing or some feminine guy with an anime haircut with the most eccentric animations that make me puke. I just want to make some badass dude like Kratos from God of War or something.

Gender/Race lock cuts development time down to a tiny fraction of what it would normally be because you only need to make one set of animations and armor. When the overwhelmingly vast majority of your actual micro-transactions come from female races the choice becomes obvious. Hell the developers have stated on record that an Elin swimsuit event single-handedly saved the game from closing it's doors. If you want them to change then change how the players are voting with their wallets. If male classes made enough money to justify the development they would make them, they are a business not randomly sexist.

Ye Li That's understandable to an extent development/budget wise, but I still can't help but want what I want, and thus why I stated my opinion. This is the only class so far that has a reason for being gender-locked. I get what people are saying about how in-game female cosmetics have sold better in the past, but anyone can take one quick glance at recent public feedback and see that a non gender-locked class or even a male gender-locked class is in high demand right now. I don't think a game should pick genders and races for classes solely based on the income it brings. There needs to be a compromise between the game as a money-making business and the diverse fantasy world we all want it to continue to be.

Well the Elin is only a female race and the reason is that none of the other races would have figured this out is because the Ninja's along with the Valkyrie would probably be unwilling to share their training and how to become a ninja with people not apart of their race. Also the Popori technically IS said sometimes to be the male Elin so I could be completely wrong. And Valkyrie's were only ever known to be female if your wondering that.

Yea, its part of the lore, but the only reason it's in there is to have an excuse to gender/race lock the classes. I don't know why tho, it could be that there are more co$metics for females, and the fact that they are too lazy too animate stuff for males and other races.

Reapers are exclusive to the Elin race, who only posess one gender. That's a solid, reasonable in universe reason, especially since Reapers only come into existence late in the events of the game's timeline. Brawlers might manage to get by the 'only humans' clause due to being a fighting style recently developed in TERA's history by a human woman who was a smith. (No excuse given for the female only though.) Gunner's are only used by the two races with the high enough tech base to make and understand how to maintain the specialist weapons they rely upon. (again, no logic in female only exists) Valkyrie has at least a conceptual reason since the name is from mythic female figures. The racial restriction to castanic makes sense as an artifact of their culture they would refuse to share with outsiders. I'll give this a pass as I did for the Reaper's double lock. Edit: The Ninja can also be excused as the Valkyrie as a small numbers group unwilling to share their techniques with outsiders. Annoyed I forgot about them.

There are a lot of hate because of all the genderlocked classes. Okay lemme say this. Valkyrie's were only ever known to be female in norse mythology, Ninja's are race locked to the Elin class possibly because they don't want to share their techniques with the other races along with the Valkyrie. The reason for the gunners being race locked is because the castanics and high elves are the ones who are most advanced to understand the technology but there is no known reason to me why the are also genderlocked. But if you don't like that they are then just go play a different game. Or just use the classes that can also be male. That's just my opinion and I personally cannot wait until the Valkyrie comes out to TERA ps4 in January.
