These really are 1st class how-to videos. Best I've ever seen. You should be very proud!

Followed the video and changed out my worn ball joints for the tereflex. Video was very helpful and the build quality on the tereflex ball joints is top notch. Took a while to remove and install everything but the video covered everything. Just be careful removing the abs wheel sensor - they are plastic and prone to breaking while trying to pop it out.

just installed them in my 08 JKU because the factory ones sucked for 35s. They went in pretty simple, except for the rust everywhere making difficulties.

Most places that rotor is not moving, 90% of us do not have SnapOn tools, unfortunately. In the rust zones, DO NOT remove that speed sensor from the hub, remove it from the the top of of the cable, where it connects with a clip.

I don't believe snap on sockets are still covered under warranty if they show damage from use other than their designated purpose. Those hammered sockets may not be covered anymore. I know they don't cover screwdrivers used as pry bars.

Hey Teraflex great How To's, what part number ball joint press is that you're using? I have one that doesn't seem to have the same dyes you're using and your C looks to be possibly taller than the one I'm currently using. If the shorter reduced dye you're using isn't part of the kit would you know the part number to that as well? Thank you in advance!

Great video. Thank you for sharing. I am a newbie to the Jeep world. Just bought mine about 4 weeks ago. It is a 2015 JK Rubicon Hard Rock Edition. Only had 37k miles on it when I bought it. I doubt it had even seen mud. I mentioned I am a newbie, so how will I know when it is time to even replace the ball joints? What tell-tale signs do I look for, or listen for?

How would I know if I need to adjust these ball joints and exactly how much to adjust them?
@teraflexsuspensions2 жыл бұрын
Lift the Jeep by the axle until the tires are just off the ground. Place your hands at 12 and 6 o clock and apply opposing pressure, feeling for movement. Also, place a small pry bar under the tire. With light pressure, pull up on the pry bar, feeling the upper ball joint for "in and out" movement. If there is noticeable play, its time to adjust and set the preload.

Typically you would go without knurled if you are replacing your ball joints for the first time, even second. If you're on your third set, knurled would be best. If you have more questions, please contact us at 801-713-3314!

A little bit of pre planning for tool setup and dealing with rusted parts should take about 2-3 hours. I hit everything with penetrating oil an hour before I started.

Best I can tell, they've redesigned these ball joints. As long as you get the redesigned version, you should be good. (I've just ordered a set to install on my 2014 JK). More about the redesigned ones on kzbin.info/www/bejne/iX7MZJmLfZ2qhdU

What happens if you do blow up the boot?
@teraflexsuspensions5 жыл бұрын
Most likely all the grease will come out and you joints will rust, seize, and then break. Best to keep them well lubricated.
