Small tidbit - keeping the stock radio antenna serves a very important purpose when parking in garages (since you mentioned garages). It is about 2" taller than the roof... So if there is a low hanging pipe or something lower than the promised garage clearance, you will see that antenna shake and have a split second to slam the brakes. Saved my ass a few times.... Even back in the college days with my XJ.

@@TheEPICBeardedGinger what gearing did you select?
@stinggreyjlr95352 жыл бұрын
I love when people think that the 4 cylinder is going to struggle until they realize that it makes more useful power than the V6 😂 Nothing like making peak torque at 3k RPM compared to the V6 doing the same at almost redline.

Any updates on how you are liking the long arm versus short arm? How is on road handling, any issues hitting things off-road or when rock crawling?
@thereissomecoolstuff2 жыл бұрын
Alright why did you install all the bolts with the nuts inside. Isn't it better to be able to see the nuts if they are missing or loose. I know most Canadians can't see their nuts anyway...good video...You guys do excellent demo work.
@TheEPICBeardedGinger2 жыл бұрын
All hardware was installed as the kit instructed. We prefer to install hardware where its more likely you hit the nut with a rock then the bolt head. As its easier to remove a damaged nut from a bolt then the other way around.

Please answer my question. Can I install teraflex long arm kit on it after installing portals? Cuz I think Portal needs more flexible , strong and robust arm due to higher gravity. Pls help me to make my decision right. For me, factory arms for portals seems a bit weak and less durability.

What made you guys go with the Teraflex long arm kit over something like the MetalCloak long arm kit? I currently have a Teraflex 3.5" lift on my Jeep JL and looking to go to a 4.5" lift on long arms, but can't decide on which kit would work best for my application. The springs from my current lift are sagging so I think the MetalCloak springs might be able to help with that. Thoughts?

Man I want 37s but I’m just not sure how well my rig would support them. I always hear from the community that if you don’t have 20 grand in axles you can’t safely run 37s. Do you think a 2020 JT Sport S with the max tow could safely spin 37s? I already have 35s but the bigger tire just looks right.
@TheEPICBeardedGinger2 жыл бұрын
Personally it all depends on the driver and whats the vehicle is used for.

"i don't really want to climb up very high to get into it" - oh, here's the 3.5" lift kit. right.

I am hoping it settles at 3” after the bumpers and armor goes on, as it had to be 3” minimum for the long arm kit
@mattdisher95212 жыл бұрын
Ok I have to ask, why long arm over a short arm? How do you choose which is best?
@TheEPICBeardedGinger2 жыл бұрын
I personally did this one only because I have never had one on my own personally vehicle yet, so this build is being setup as more of a long distance rock crawling rig, so who knows how far we will go with it.
@mattdisher95212 жыл бұрын
Understood, I will keep an eye on your build and your review of the suspension after you have time to put it through its paces. That way when I am ready to upgrade I can choose either a short or long arm setup.

It must be nice to be financially able to take a brand new vehicle and immediately trash everything but the body and engine. Not a word about how much any of this would cost a mere mortal, non-KZbinr guy who came to Epic to have this done to his Jeep. The key is in two little throw-away lines the Ginger spoke, one at the beginning and one at the end of the video: “TerraFlex helped us out” and “shop-build for promotion”. These mean that none of this cost the Ginger or Epic one cent, it was all provided free because they are KZbinrs and their products will be seen by millions as something anyone can have on their Jeep for having fun off-road, and if you have to ask what all this costs, then you can’t afford it and you aren’t “cool”. Fun video, but I would really like to see some more honesty and straight-forwardness in KZbin videos about how much things cost and what value they are getting for free as opposed to what these upgrades cost regular folks.
@TheEPICBeardedGinger2 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with much of what your saying but… Since Epic is a legit shop first and foremost and not a KZbin Influencer none of these parts were free. As such you will never see me talk positive about a product unless I truly like it and have tested it. Which also goes we won’t install it on customer vehicles either until we test and research it. I personally pay for this vehicle and it does cost Epic a lot in shop hours and parts which in turn costs me as one of the owners. Yes the parts are at a discount but that comes with years of working hard, building industry relationships and selling a ton of Teraflex parts here in Canada. Second we don’t usually talk about costs cause is confuses most people as we are based in Canada 🇨🇦 and every costs more here, costs more to get product imported to here and our money is worth much less then the US dollar.

@@TheEPICBeardedGinger I really appreciate the response and the information. That information is exactly what we as viewers need to be told and need to have should we get the bug to have some work like this done on our Jeeps. But I still think there needs to be more. The fact that you are in Canada really does not matter to me, even though I am located in Oklahoma. Having been up there many times to visit friends and do some off-roading, I am well aware of the cost differences, since I bought some upgrades for my Jeep while I was there, but I still think it would be a good idea to let viewers know what major upgrades cost, even if it is only a ballpark figure. Casey 250 quotes prices in his videos for his accessories and upgrades, and I think that’s great. It’s great information for me as an enthusiast. Keep producing the videos, I really enjoy them and hope to make it up to your neck of the woods sometime to have some fun.

Ive also done build break downs on both my Jeeps if you want to see costs. Im a little scared to do one on the next Jeep though... Lol
@glenngore66092 жыл бұрын
@@Casey250 I know. These gear-makers really do have a penchant for putting a lot of zeroes at the end of their prices. I recoil in horror at times and just move on to something a little less pricey.
