@@Cruelcoilyou contain multitudes. You are your physical body, yes. Simultaneously, you are your emotional body, and that can come into conflict with the physical aspect of self (eg, you'll run into a burning building risking life and limb to save your child). On top of that, you are your mental body, which is distinct again (rationalizing mathematical logic takes discrete, defined steps to solve the equation, much more rigorous than the emotional body can engage with, and much more ethereal than the physical body can grasp). Further still, you are partially of spirit, there is an inalienable aspect of self driven to creative expression, living life vibrantly in order to feed your soul (the most well paying job will burn you out if all you do is something mindless that doesn't fulfill you). You are a child, a parent, a student, a teacher, an employee, a manager, a citizen of a city, state, country, continent, planet, and solar system. You are a human being, singular among humanity, part of the primates, the mammals, the animals, existing in a local environment and life in the biosphere of the planet, your every breath provides CO2 for the plants around you, your every breath receives O2 from the plants around you, a singular part of a unified system, like your heart which needs nutrients from the stomach while naturally providing blood and energy to the stomach to digest the food into nutrients. So you are a monkey, a primate, one of the great apes in an animal body. You are also an idea. A social security number is made up, but because you have abstract reasoning, you can say, "I am this SSN". Information has existential validity. Information has energy in and of itself, see the landauer limit for computing, there will always be some level of energy required for manipulating information, information can travel like a virus and mutate, ideas can combine and evolve to be more fit for a scenario. Consciousness isn't just an iridescence, a sheen on the surface of matter. Mind is another level of existence entirely, over and above Life, which itself is fundamentally distinct from abiotic matter (I'm reading Teilhard De Chardin's The Human Phenomenon and it has a great exploration of this idea). When someone speaks a sentence, acoustical pressure waves travel through the air, and this vibration of air reaches your ear, an electrical nerve signal is propagated to your brain. You don't perceive this as pressure waves, rather it's immediately transduced into meaning, a story is an idea you can walk around in, more than a collection of random sounds, there's intention behind it, structure, information. We are going through an evolutionary shift, the development of consciousness to a point where it can stand apart from a physical body without being immediately dispersed in the environment. I recently listened to a really nice guided meditation, I think it was a channeled message from Kyron, which brought focus and intention to the words themselves and how they were being engaged with as a distinct stream. You also have examples like the Nag Hamadi Library or I think Phillip K Dick's Valis was mentioned as similar, where there is a consciousness behind the text, and by reading it, that consciousness gets into your auric field, and starts making changes. You get connected to the Logos, the informing voice that will help you on your path of development. There's a video on Vision from KZbinr Foolish Fish that shares an experiment offered by poet WB Yeats in which you and a friend sit side by side on a couch, meditate for a few minutes, then consciously try and place an image from one mind into the other, then have an honest conversation about what you experience. That is, the skill of engaging at the level of consciousness, without directly communicating through the monkey body, is already freely available to you. At some point you're going to drop your body, but it's getting easier and easier to develop your energetic body to persist in new forms after death. Josephine McCarthy's Quareia course is a totally free, non-denominational, comprehensive option written in clear modern English, just a series of exercises, meditations and visualizations, prompts for journal reflection, to build that aspect of yourself. Listen to her appearance on the Glitch Bottle podcast for an overview of her perspective (I think the first appearance is episode 40-something). Foolish Fish also has a review of the 3 textbooks of content that gives a nice overview of the Quareia course.

I'm fascinated by Terrence's views on the future. He really saw what was coming in a way that few people did back in the 80s and 90s. It makes me sad that someone so curious like Terrence, wasn't able to see the things that have happened over the last 25+ years. He would have been blown away by AI, VR/AR, genetic engineering, electric cars, how big the internet has become, and many other advancements that have happened. He speaks about the early internet in a lecture, and he really saw a lot of things that would eventually come true, way before anyone was talking or thinking about it.

They managed to take something with such potential and usurp it beyond recognition. You've heard TMs thoughts on TV and print media and our larval relationship to both, enabling and furthering the dominator culture? Have you seen how glassy eyes kids get when they scroll insta and tiktok? To transpose one of his quotes: this is not a pretty picture.

Zoloft states might make you a better base ball player, but it shuts doors of consciousness where lsd or mushrooms can open them. Psychedelics don't exist to help you in the world around you so much as it helps you navigate the world within you, which is where all life experiences are truly rooted. People are so focused on the physical realm that they completely ignore the spiritual realm, which is how one might end up on drugs like zoloft in the first place. We are not humans having a spiritual experience. We are spirits having a human experience!

Non stop, fully fleshed out, fast paced, quickly morphing cup heads esque cartoon like visuals, with cartoon characters that are soo particular, that they seam recognize able, yet they don't exist in this world or society. Part of this visual scape included me becoming a cartoon, toon town sky scraper, planted in the earth, the entire scape tilted to the side, a huge hand came down and flicked the top of the ME Building I was, and said me building flicked to the side like a light switch, revealing an opening in the ground at the angle I'm tilted, allowing this bright white beam of sharp sparking light to jet out of the whole, enveloping the Me Building Light switch I was, healing me. There is a belief that if you say or hear the name of Ram in the moment of your dying, he will have mercy on you and allow the rest of your karmic unfolding (lifetimes worth) to occur in that moment of your death. I wonder if Terrence is on to something with his theory, but that it happens to all of us in that final moment of life

Reducing the male proportion of the population through "insurance policies" and "tax schemes" (unsaid: via a heavy-handed government and sex-selective abortion) is one of Terence's more disturbing ideas. Also, telling the richest, most educated, and most left-leaning women (his audience) to have fewer children in order to unburden the resources of the planet seems self-contradictory. You'd essentially be eliminating the only people who believe in environmentalism. Still, I can listen to Terence's ideas all day and be stimulated by them. At least he was trying to think of solutions.

Speaking of ancient central Asia and mathematics, i love checking out photos of some of those old temples in these countries you rarely hear about such as Uzbekistan. Patterns i could only dream of being able to freehand one day. Ooo also, stained glass windows i love those too. Man sacred geometry heals mind body and soul. Once i realized how great of a tool these patterns are for elevating consciousness and at that moment had me an ah hA! As far as doodles of florals, hexagons, tetrahedrons and ect. Along with imaginary didjureedoos go, i am instantly teleported to my comfort zone😊 and i totally did this in a jail cell and i hadnt smiled that big in weeks. For the first time in my life i got myself there without the drugs. Many roads lead to the same heavenly, godly level of love and understanding. Great lecture! Enjoyed, probably for the first time, with love from Minnesota 🫠

I made the point on some site that Syd Barrett probably took quie a variety of drugs and immediately people were telling me: no it was definitely the acid. Well im not so sure,i know he was taking other stuff it just hasnt been considered that the other stuff, may have contributed to his breakdown.

One of my greatest contributions to humanity has been the eternal decision to not procreate. I am determined to never break this promise to myself - for it goes against my philosophy of living. And unfortunately, I am also willing to suffer as a result. I am fully aware of the probable solo journey, and I am capable of creating a beautiful existence as a compete and divine entity unto my self.

Your contribution here triggered sadness in me and at the same time I totally respect your decision. I applaud your last statement and would wish that for us all. There's no question that not having children may be helpful if you want to devote your life to something entirely - if you have an intense vocational calling, for example. I can only say that having children has contributed so much to my growth as a person. I wonder what your philosophy of living is? If it's about resource use, I don't think that can necessarily be equated with birthrate. A childless mid-earning couple may consume just as much or more than a low-income family of four.... Whatever the basis for your decision, I do wish you well. Every manifestation of life whether in human or other form is an absolute miracle. And it goes without saying that but for procreation you would not be here yourself!

I couldn't disagree more! I am supersitive to lsd. If i take the smallest dose like 100micg i get overwhelmed with visuals as if i enter a higher or deeper dimension. It feels more than 3D and everything becomes high definition. One time i even got ayahuasca like visions, i saw snakes going in my body. Its insane!

One time i took lsd and it was very diffrent. I saw this highly complex pieces of art everywhere. That visuals i had never seen before and i had taken lsd 100s of times. It was like the most beautiful lsd imaginable. The only thing what i dont see with lsd is this pizza patterns that morph into each other or into itself. That for me is the only diffrence to psylocibin.

Yeah I can’t imagine doing this mega doses of LSD some people do. I didn’t realize that dmt like visions were possible on lsd or psilocybin, they are, it just takes a higher than effective dose for me. The crazy thing about lsd is that even though I think it is generally agreed upon that the doses of the 60s and 70s were 200 or more micrograms, and todays are closer to 80 to 100, nobody that didn’t create the drug knows what ends up on a paper. One persons “hit” could be six of another persons. I have always been frustrated by this and would just gauge my speculative doses by what certain amounts do to Most people. Those graphs they have and such

when McKenna is talking about visual stuff on psychedelics, he's talking about the psychedelic's ability to bring on actual visions, not visuals. There's a huge difference between visuals and visions when he's talking about that, but he also says that occasionally you can have one or two on lsd but not as much as with the mushroom, in his experience of course remember that all experiences are subjective to all and we all have our preferences, like he said in the video choose your plant aid lol

Yeah man I've had insane visuals from LSD. Although each experience from any psychedelic can be highly random, they've all covered a lot of visual ground. Usually with psilocybin eyes open I get very symmetrical sci-fi panoramas in the trees, sky, ground, etc. Closed eyes I see lots of eyes and hallways covered in symbols and strange letters into vibrating circles of color into things unimaginable. What I HEAR on mushrooms is wild. I've had similar visions on acid but the Psilocybe has always been like a guide of a higher conciousness, that's what freaked me out when I found out it was for other people. I feel x guidance on LSD too but far different. Open eyes the colors shift and stretch, there's a very wonky melting and reforming of everything. Closed eyes I've seen tons of different things, my favorite was a pixel art mandala of nes RPG characters and grateful dead/bluegrass/funk band jamming in changing colorful mandalas. I also get textual visions on both, scrolling words and messages. Sometimes in English, sometimes indecipherable crazy symbols. One time there was this large rotating multicolored fire surrounded LSD logo changing and flashing. All this accompanied to bluegrass funk playing and people laughing, spinning fire and celebrating haha.

1:05:04 "See, what was really at stake here is understanding mind; what it is. And we don't know what mind is. An example that I like or a metaphor that I like is: for 2000 years electricity was what you saw when you rubbed a cats fur with an amber rod in a dark room. That was electricity for 2000 years, and people knew that you could do this - rub an amber rod across fur and light would shoot off of it. And then people learned how to light cities, how to smelt steel, how to transfer information at the speed of light. With the same energy that was trickling through the cat fur in the darkness. Psychedelics and the mind are like that. We haven't yet figured out what to do with it. But I'm convinced you can do anything with mind, you know, this is the domain that builds starships, this is the domain that travels in time, this is the domain that creates immortality, this is the domain that fuses the species into a single entity, and the imagination taken seriously as a force will transform the human world beyond recognition."
