"Most people who have psychedelic experiences will agree that the most profound and open hearted moments of their life are tied in with those experiences. Yet we are somehow afraid to admit that the solution to spiritual dilemma could lie in matter. In other words, we ourselves are the victims of the inside outside matter spirit dichotomy brought on by the dominator culture." -Terence McKenna

Terence predicts that those with the technologies of power and wealth and control will eventually make our planet uninhabitable, so they'll aim to escape to Mars. This is essentially what we're seeing happen today, more than 30 years later, with the (financially) richest person in the world aspiring to take human life to Mars.

Speaking of politics. We have one of the most hopeful elections in a long time coming up in the US...long long time in terms of a few generations. Even Russel Brand is currently in the US to join the movement. This is an unexpected, interesting turn of events considering the batshit crazy direction we've been heading recently. It's been terrible for some time yet it managed to get a whole lot crazier these past few years. I suppose, something had to happen...Nature seeks equilibrium amidst the chaos, always. Still amazed that much of Terrence's observations are so timeless. Some things haven't aged so well but most have and some things were even visionary. Forever one of my favourite people.

Prepared to be disappointed, either way. We really should be past putting all our eggs in the political basket to be honest, given it is clear that the political class are not the ones making the big decisions but merely implementing them. The left thought the same way about Obama as the right do about Trump. "Hope". There's a lot of places to look for that, but the political arena is a place I wouldn't consider personally.

Yes, and for what? To stir up emotions? These talks seem to have been edited...but for what reason? Is Peter trying to elicit an emotional response from us just to create more hopelessness in the world? He's built up this community and is some kind of leader...and what is he doing with this power? How is he actually helping us network when he chooses the most negative quotes in his comments and then won't even engage with us personally. I'm thinking maybe Peter works for the dark side.

@@ottokarvonschnallenburg2572 Not sure what that emoji is, other than an easily misinterpreted form of communication. Did you notice that Peter stopped doing the livestreams because it wasn't profitable...and during the livestreams where the community would "come together to clarify our thinking", we would typically get invaded by bots or some dark, shadowy lurkers hoping to suck the optimism and lifeblood out of the room, and Peter would do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to moderate or redirect the conversation. I wonder if he was even sitting there a part of it or if he would run the livestreams just to mine money out of the system and walk away to do other things for 3 hours. And the recordings are always edited to relay certain messages... I wonder what is the purpose? Now all the community can share is emojis and praise for Peter or a dead man who's thoughts aren't even technically his, they are part of the collective (they can live on and grow new tendrils in our minds and we can correct some of Terrence's blind spots) Yes, I may be one of the burning eyed fanatics who feels strongly that we have "a moral obligation to articulate solutions" and to hold one another accountable. The psychedelic community is special and I'm leery of those trying to take advantage. "We need to be more critical of our own community" 11:38 "We must radicalize ourselves on the surface without changing our psychedelic transcendentalism, which is the source of our great strength personally " 9:50 NO POSERS if you've been there and got the messages, come back to the tribal campfire and share. Emojis are useless. Worshipping McKenna is useless. Go into the depths and think for yourself, get some ideas, come back and help grow the garden.
