What those TERFs don't realize is that transgenderism can be an essential part of feminism. They're interconnected. Feminists have been vocal about what rigid beauty standards and transgenderism seems to be neutralising that. meaning women identifying as women don't have to wear makeup anymore because nobody would assume their gender under transgenderism. Meaning transgenderism neutralizes the war against the beauty industry. In a way, it dismantles the beauty industry and its plans to target biological women (bc transgenderism allows that biological women can identify as women without necessarily adhering to any of those toxic physical standards that weakened women historically). now, anyone can identify as a woman (to ease their gender dysphoria). Or a man. Or something in-between. In transgenderism, gender is no longer rigid, but a social structure (meaning it can be changed).

Since I started using the internet I've been disturbed at what I've seen online for the promotion of abuse and hatred towards women. A lot of it seems to be from the USA. I don't know if it's connected to them thinking they're the only country with free speech so should shoot their mouths off at each other for the sake of it, but men and women there seem to have more disturbing relationships than Europeans. In Europe the general culture is love and romance, and I think men and women in Europe have more healthy relationships. There are various anti women USA groups. Such as men who make youtube videos saying they don't want women, but instead of doing what they say by going away and leaving women alone or to have hero gentlemen types, they spend a lot of time on the video comments trying to make women feel bad about themselves and promoting others abuse women. Then there are those incels who are angry that women won't sleep with them. Not seeing the irony that women don't find a men a turn on who spend most of their time online swearing at women, and trying to make them feel bad. Although it isn't all men against women. Lots of USA women say men are disgusting if they haven't been cir'cised. I sometimes wonder if doing that routinely on a national scale is why they have the most serial killers, as having a part of the body chopped off that's supposed to be covered until sx, so that it becomes hardened and less sensitive must affect some men psychologically.

Agree, Katie Herzog is NOT a TERF but someone concerned with over/mis diagnosing youth as being trans. Not all who think themselves trans during adolescence are trans, but just confused. Ensuing medical treatment for those who don't need it is dreadful and most often permanent. That is not to say trans people don't exist, don't deserve full and equal representation, health care and protection. They absolutely and unarguably do. Arguably, what could be referred to as a trend in misdiagnosing transsexuality might cause (probably is) backlash against the trans community. This is NOT concern trolling, btw.

I've been to the Philly Trans Health Conference. As far as queer related events, it is the least sexual thing I have ever been to and specifically focuses on med and healthcare for trans and GNC folks. Kink panels and discussions do exist in relation to mental and physical health since it is helpful to those in our community, but it is age gated and not at all the focus of the conference. Also love Emma's statement on intersectional feminism, thanks for standing up for your sisters.

There’s a black lesbian in England suing the organisation she works for and the major LGBTQI+ organisation there, Stonewall, for discriminating against her based her her belief people can’t change sex and that her employer supports an Stonewall that calls lesbians bigots who won’t include fully intact trans identifying males into their dating pool. She describes a seminar members of Stonewall supported held by a transgender woman for other transgender women called “overcoming the cotton ceiling” where strategies were discussed for how to get lesbians to have sex with them.
