"It was so good that none of the other movies in its series could ever hope to come close to it." That's EXACTLY what I wish Terminator fans would accept. They're never going to top T2 or even the first movie. It just can't be done. If you're expecting that sort of quality, then your expectations are FAR too high. I personally enjoy the other sequels. Yeah, the first two are the best ones and they could of just stopped there, but I thought all the following films were fun and entertaining in their own right. I don't dislike any of the Terminator movies.
@Supperdude92 жыл бұрын
@@SlasherIncorporated First one was okay, serviceable as a sci-fi movie. T2 was just absolute gold. Even to this day, everybody talks about how good T2 is, because it is pretty much a perfect movie. Today you can watch T2 and still thoroughly enjoy it. And the CGI didn't look to bad either, though considering that it was liquid metal which looked weird anyway, it was a perfect mask. Again, the only problem with T2 was that it set the bar so damn high that nothing can really touch it.

This movie was a huge event when it came out. I saw it in the theatre and people would literally gasp out loud and cheer at some of the effects and action sequences. No one had seen anything like it up to that point. Also, i see a lot of comments about how the CGI still holds up 30 years later. In some cases it's even better. They had computer scientists and technicians advising them so a lot of thought went into each and every shot of the t-1000. It's part of why this movie still holds and is considered a classic, the 'care' that went into it. Nowadays it's all formula and they do just enough to 'get by' with CG effects.
@gendoruwo6322 Жыл бұрын

I have to say, I think the T1000 was the real pinnacle of the model here. Yes I know it can't manifest complex weapons or interface with other machines like the TX but the sheer physical invulnerability of it makes it unbelievably difficult to destroy. Heck, it even managed to survive several seconds in the molten steel that ended up finally putting it down. The use of a concentrated acid in genysis, however, was perhaps one of the only smart things that movie did... Even if the model's alloy is somehow too chemically resistant to degrade, the reaction it has with any other contaminant on it would heat it up to the point needed to disassemble it. That being said... there is very little that can resist that kind of reaction... gold or perhaps a solid nobble gas?

His acting here was very good here,agreed because when you think about it, he's playing a character that is supposed to be a machine. The T-1000 is a machine and as a liquid metal robot,it has no internal organs,no fluids,no blood and doesn't to breathe or rest and it doesn't get tired or fatigued so it wouldn't be gasping or panting or breathing hard or out of breath from running hard. It would just keep going until it catches the target or until the person gets away from them or until it's damaged in a way that would physically prevent it from pursuing the target,so I loved that he never had his mouth open when he was running.

If you notice, Arnold moves to a different place in the elevator after every shot so the T-1000 doesn't know where he is and just stabs randomly. Meanwhile, Sarah doesn't move at all after she shoots so the T-1000 easily figures out where she is and manages to hurt her.
@ricardovalle10743 жыл бұрын
It looks Arnold isn’t avoiding or ducking the stabbing but shooting towards it. Shotgun buys time and he knows that. Meanwhile Sarah who knows nothing is shooting with a pistol that does nothing vs t1000.

They also didn't "get down" like he told them to at 1:09 which probably would've helped. Don't get me wrong; it's still a great sequence, but internally, I'm going, "come on, Sarah, you know better." (Though to be fair, she's been locked up and drugged for a while, and doesn't really know what's going on, so that probably throws off her game a bit)

The visual and practical effects of this film are literally so good! like even now it's still not that bad int terms of effects. James Cameron was really ahead of his time
@jordanelza88069 ай бұрын
This movie is outstanding and way ahead of its time. The fact that the T-800 and T-1000 never actually talked to each other (except for the phone call) was a nice touch. It’s also humorous that there are multiple occasions when the T-800 outsmarted the T-1000, despite being less advanced. One example is this: 0:28 The T-1000 wasted all its bullets on the T-800 and John wasn’t even in its line of fire.

The T-1000 one of the most menacing villans ever in a movie and by far my favorite in the terminator movies. Impervious to physical harm, unable to be tired out, can copy a person outward appearance AND their voice as well, is a cold calculating logical machine with no mercy, and is relentless in it's pursuit of it's target.

Vulnerable to extreme temperatures, grenade launders, rpgs, acid. Relentless no doubt tho.
@anyany2021 Жыл бұрын
@@Ritiwayra Extreme temps: you are correct, there is very little material on earth that can stand extraneous cold or heat. Tungsten has the highest melting point and I'm pretty sure the T-1000 wasn't made of Tungsten lol. Explosives: Not really vulnerable since they don't do him any lasting damage and he can still move really well even when blown apart. Acid: no doubt as sulfuric acid will react and dissolve most metals except for gold and platinum.
@Ritiwayra Жыл бұрын
@@anyany2021 Compared to a regular T-800, its somewhat less resilient. T-1000's recovery time from explosives is extremely slow which makes it vulnerable. Acid or molten steel completely destroys it, so I would say it does take permanent damage as seen towards the end of T2 when it started malfunctioning due to the sudden temperature change.
