I kind of wish Kristen had seen the first Terminator beforehand. There are two major subversions in the sequel (Linda Hamilton being jacked, and Arnold being a good guy) that don't really register otherwise. Edit: Maybe the viewing would've also been more engaging if you'd see the first one beforehand. It felt like at a certain point pretty early on you both decided to disconnect from this movie, perhaps under the assumption that it wasn't going to make sense anyway.

There is one thing you miss by not watching T1 first. You would immediately think Arnold is the bad guy because of the the first movie and it throws you that he isn't the first time you watch this. The hand and the chip aren't prototypes - they were pilfered from the scene of the first terminator when it was "destroyed" and were being used for research. The problem with observing the sky today is ironically our technology, most places on the planet you can barely make out 3 stars in the sky because of light pollution when even 50 years ago you could see 100's of thousands of them by just looking up with no technology needed unless you had eye problems.
@bobbyclarkston8836Ай бұрын
Not sure why your rant switched from T2 to stargazing but I felt a correction is needed. With the naked eye, only about 3,000 stars are visible from any point in the world and it doesn’t matter how far back in time you go. After all, the h human eye is only so powerful.
@spazbog123Ай бұрын
@@bobbyclarkston8836 It was 7 months ago but I am assuming they talked about stars - go to New York tilt your head up and tell me how many stars you see, if you say more than 10 you are lying - light pollution is very much a thing that has only gotten worse with technology, maybe 100's of thousands was an overstatement but you aren't seeing 3,000 stars any where near any major city on the planet but get yourself in the middle of nowhere and you will see those 3,000 stars just with your own eyes. It is an interesting contrast - if you have only ever been in the city and were born 30 years ago you shrug your shoulders and say so what, if you have never been in a city you can't believe the city person doesn't think much of it - but 50 years ago even city people could admire the stars in all their glory due to less light pollution.

Actually, the arm in the lab wasn't the first prototype. It was what they found from the first terminator in Terminator 1. When she killed that terminator, its arm was reaching out to kill her and she used the machine to crush the terminator, but his arm was sticking out of the machine and was not damaged. They took that existing arm (and the CPU from the terminator's head) and that was what they were holding in the lab. They were using the technology of the future to make advancements. Essentially, they were trying to reverse engineer the existing components that were created by advanced AI from the future.

I really don't see the point of skipping T1 before seeing T2 on a reaction channel. The reaction to T2 is so much better if you've seen T1 before. Sorry guys but this was a mistake.

Lunatic decision to watch the sequel first, what a waste of time.
@Jigsaw40710 ай бұрын
Yeah, when watching one of the best action movies of all time, just look at each other and discuss what you missed at the beginning of the movie instead of looking at the screen during one of the awesome action scenes. Perhaps there is an audiobook version with just the sound effects ... 🤣

There are lots of sequels which can be watched out of order, but T1 and T2 definitely ain't one of them. I still enjoyed your reaction, but it was quite a missed opportunity for arguably the best action movie in history to react to all of the added references to the first movie. You said it yourself at 20:35 that you miss a lot of context. Just a couple of examples where James Cameron added references: Arnold being good guy, Sarahs mental and physical transformation, the photograph of Sarah, the first Terminators hand and chip, Sarahs reaction when she saw the Terminator first time during her escape, "Come with me if you want to live", Dr. Silberman, John talking about his father when the Terminator repairs the truck, T1000s "Get out" when he enters the chopper, resilience of the Terminator after taking enormous damage. The sequel just hits differently if you already experienced the first movie.

Watching T2 before T1, is like inhaling a cigarette before lighting it up 😅

10:26 As for the timeline. The T-800 (Arnie) went back in time to May 12, 1984 and tried to kill Sarah Connor. He failed. NOW in 1995 The T-800 (Arnie) has come back in time to PROTECT Sarah's son, John Connor and the T-1000 (Robert Patrick) is now the terminator trying to kill John. The War (Judgment Day) happens on August 29, 1997. On the video that Sarah watched with her doctor, she said "It happens, I know it happens". By the sound of what you are saying here, you seem to think she said "It happened."

Before Robert Patrick played the villainous T-1000, Rock star Billy Idol (Dancing With Myself, Mony Mony, Cradle Of Love, and LA Woman) was considered but got into a motorcycle accident, injuring his leg. Robert Patrick studied wolves and eagles to give his character a more sinister look as if though he was tracking his prey. James Cameron was high on Ecstasy while writing the script. He revealed this while promoting AVATAR THE WAY OF WATER. Originally, the opening scene where the Terminator and T-1000 arrive naked from the future was almost cut as the producers thought it was a remake, but when they learned that the Terminator didn't kill anyone in the bar, they realized he's a good guy, while the T-1000 was the bad guy. The film won 4/6 Oscars: Best Visual Effects Best Sound Editing Best Sound Mixing Best Makeup. It was nominated for Best Cinematography and Best Film Editing, but lost to JFK. It's one of the best Sci-fi Action movies ever made.

T2 isn't the kind of movie you can fully appreciate without having seen the original film. _Especially_ as it relates to Sarah Conner's character, her evolution, and her relationship with the Terminator. Another commenter mentioned Sarah's Conner's reaction seeing Arnold's character at the hospital. The look of fear on her face will not fully register unless you know the back story.

So I understand, one of the girls has already seen this movie, and the other one hasn’t even seen terminator one? This is crazy time… every important reveal is set up by the first movie.

Although it is interesting to follow people's reactions in these kinds of videos, You guys are particularly frustrating: you don't stop talking during the scenes and, worse, you look into each other's eyes for long seconds without looking what is happening on the screen. The cool shots and little pieces of info you missed are mind-boggling! No wonder sometimes you wonder about the plot...
@rexoid080010 ай бұрын
because these channels are for money and views. They get attractive girls that are marketable to watch films that they have no interest in which is why they watch T2 first. They know its a good reaction that get people views but don't realise that its the journey of the story line that is watchable so this bombs and dosn't hit the same. The comments reflect that.
@spextrekid941010 ай бұрын
this will probably be the least popular video on their channel for that reason. I couldn't get through the reaction because I knew they had no idea what was going on, and I couldn't stand them asking questions about everything. Maybe one day it can be fun to watch someone who hasn't seen the first one, going in blind into a sequel that is so directly tied to the first one.@@rexoid0800

It was a one time experience and it's kinda ruined for you people. Most of the times you were in confusion and discussing and guessing while missing the actual content you're watching. Those who watched chronologically, some of them there were even surprised when they found out Arnold is playing a positive role here. I mean, the context gets so better.

Y'all seem to be under the false impression that the first movie is not as esteemed as the sequel. YOU ARE WRONG! The first Terminator movie is not Godfather 3, or Blade Trinity! The original movie is every bit of a classic as the sequel.

I think Kristen and Ambre should go back to the past to this very moment Jaby and Achara made you watch T2 without watching T1 and punish them by making them watch T1 a 100 times non-stop! Just for the heck of it! This was a crime! Judgement day for Jaby & Achara for making these guys skip T1 to watch T2!!!

I dont think it was Jaby's decision. This seems like poor judgements from Achara. Especially since she hasn't watched T1 either

Couldn't watch past the first 10 minutes. Sorry, but you don't watch a sequel before the first movie, specially THIS sequel. The reactions are completely off-putting. Try to watch a show starting with the 2nd season and tell me how that goes for you. EDIT: reading the comments was a much better experience.
