@The Good Life You don't understand, he's been in and out of rehab AND jail for this since like... the mid to late 90s. They've been very, very patient with him. It woudn't have been out of the question for him to have gotten a trainer and a life coach, even someone whose job it would be to live with him and prevent him from scoring or using drugs (and then to show up on time to set, etc) but there's only so many times people are willing to throw things into the abyss before realizing they're wasting their time trying. I mean for all I know this isn't even the reason, but I do know he's had a really hard time with drugs basically ever since T2 and it's so bad that he really hasn't gotten any work since then. Nothing any good. And TMZ basically lived outside of his house. Google articles about him and his stints in rehab and jail/prison. There's photos of him with track marks on his arms and everything. Not the kind of person you'd entrust a multi-million dollar budget film to, but honestly it cost the movie in the end. People wanted to see Ed Furlong as grown up John Connor but he couldn't realistically portray the character as an adult in his current state. Sadly.
@voteZDLR5 жыл бұрын
@The Good Life I mean he seems OK in this video, actually, although you can see like ... he just looks like someone who's been through the ringer. He's got photos taken where he's out in public, short sleeves on, track marks readily visible, as if he either didn't notice or didn't care. Or maybe he just thought paparazzi wouldn't go to skid row or something. Anyway I think they wanted him to have a bigger role in this newer film, in fact for all we know it could've been written ABOUT John Connor in it's first form, but they were like "We're either getting Edward Furlong to do it or we're re-writing it. No more recasting of this character." so yeah that's the biggest question I have is was killing him as young John Connor the plan the entire time, or not? I can't help but think it wasn't. It completely undermines the first two movies having young John Connor die in the first 10 minutes of this movie.

Nice to see that Danny Cooksey seems to have avoided the child actor pitfalls that Furlong sort of fell into. As far as I know. He looks happy and reminds me of Jason Mraz.

I was 13 when that movie came out couldn't get a enough of it! Looking back I think it was easily the best action movie of the 1990's. The more I have thaught about it probably the best action movie of all time! In the 1980's and in the 1990's there were a lot of great actions movies so that is saying a lot and even today this day other action movies can't hold a candle to when it comes to T2.

I think him being in shape has nothing to do with him being cast. If they really wanted him they would have written him into the script like they did with Carrie Fisher and put him in the gym for 6 months. Their minds were made up to have an all female cast with a new female hero.

andrew seed It also didn’t help that he was being raped by his female tutor who was almost 30 when he was 14 or 15. That’ll mess up your perspective on life. It’s public knowledge; she even transported him across state lines to avoid legal issues. Then they “dated” for several years until he was accused of domestic violence while by then being totally hooked on drugs. She started messing with him while T2 was being filmed. Look it up.
