Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) is still the best action movie of all time (imo), one of the best Sequels of all time, best James Cameron movie (imo) and my absolute favorite movie. Nothing but ❤ for this movie.

He was sooo f...ed up withdrugs,one court appearance he got bcs tjey found his 3 yr old son positive for cocaine!!! Really! Wtf this psycho did? Gave coke to 3 yr old? Or maybe the kid found it somewhereand ate it... Whatever,but still disgusting. Just wanted to mention it,i am sorry for him,he was really good in t2 & American History X... Enjoy guys

That IS the LA River. Most of the year it has a small amount of water flowing through it. During the wetter months the flow can become significant due to the concrete bed. I think James Cameron had the city reroute the water while he shot the scene.

T2 is still the greatest action film ever made. Its arguably the greatest sequel ever made. Terminator 2 is a timeless experience. It was the coolest movie in 1991 and it's still the coolest movie in 2023

No denying T2 is great! But, yeah the 2 stroke dub of the XR always bothered me also. Also the goofy way he would hold the throttle open. There was quite a few bloopers in T2 including the chase scene with the truck with the windshield houdini tricks and a few other. Lucky enough to catch it at the theater for a super late showing at midnight on opening night with a girlfriend and it was still super packed. Great group of people and showing that night.

LaserDisc is a fun format to collect, like vinyls. Being 42, it's always a kick along the lines of, "Man, this stuff looks and sounds so great!" DVD/Blue/4k are great for space, and yeah they look great, but they lack cool. LD was the champagne of home video. It's a bit of sentimental time travel. It's also fun because it limits to basicly the 20th century and then, done. I found some great LDs at the charity shop last week. I had to forgo the VanDammes due to budget, but next week I'll pick'em up if they are still there... which they probably will be. What's really silly is the shop charges champagne prices for the LDs: $10. DVDs $2. Blues: $5. Of the three formats, they charge the most for the one which most people are highly unlikely to be able to use. Weird. You guys want a movie to rip on? 1998's Lost in Space. But one to pump? LA Confidential. You guys are planning a Van Damage series, right?
@blabbercast
@blabbercast Жыл бұрын
Will definitely do a Van Damme flick down the road. Bloodsport I think. LD holds value it seems, they are jacking those prices up. If I had expendable cash I would buy some LD's ASAP. Definitely has that cool factor. Thanks for the recommendations, will look into those.

If iam not mistaken vhs in the eighties were expensive and laser disk were pretty expensive back in the day as well in the 80s we taped more stuff than we bought
@kubrickenigma7977
@kubrickenigma7977 Жыл бұрын
@@jimbowlan5804 True. LD was always a bump up in price, but the quality was almost always top shelf. Not that I experienced it at home: Money was tight and I was busking downtown for burritos and shows at the second-run theater. VHS was a good format, although it was very robust when handled by children (which cannot be said for LD, which was only barely and vulnerable to distortions to scratches and laser-rot). VHS also had outstanding audio bandwidth which was almost never capitalised upon! All those VHS tapes that need to be digitized and burned onto disc had better get on with it, since the tapes are wearing even if not being played. Funny, in my house, for some unknown reason, we never recorded onto VHS and always bought commercial. By the way: VanDamme's "Double Team" is masterpiece. It's one of the discs I said I was going to pick up. It is so bad, it's genius. There's a reason I blocked 99% of the film from memory after last watching it at the second-run back in '97, but that's no justification for not studying this one with a fine toothed comb. It is now firmly on my reccomend list of Broterion titles.

You asked LA-natives, I'm not even from the US (and never visited the west coast yet), but as far as I know the "tunnels" are part of the levee system in case of flooding of the LA river - they certainly look like the kind of "cement dikes" man made levees often are. Also, seeing this movie the first times as a kid, I thought the orderly at the nuthouse was just being a creep/perv licking Sarah in that kinda helpless state, but in later years I began to think that maybe he did it to call her bluff, and when she didn't react in any way he went like "oh, huh, maybe she really is catatonic, go figure". IDK, it just started seeming like that to me over the years.
@blabbercast

That's a great point about the orderly testing of her. I never thought about that. Thanks for the info about the tunnels!

i consider sarah going after dyson and them blowing up cyberdine part of the loop the neural net processor was still build without dyson because they had secret back-ups but dyson still got the credit for the neural net processor and the people that say back-ups would not work in 1995 are wrong

I just walked in around 45:00 (I always let your guys' stuff play in the background and when I leave so you get extra views in the meantime before I sit down and listen in later), so I haven't followed up on the whole video yet or anything else you touched on so far, but I assume the reasoning for not sending back more advanced machines is because they're machines: machine logic would probably dictate that they only expend the bare minimum i.e. choose the most efficient option. A simple 'if, then' statement programmed into their code. "IF a terminator model fails, THEN send next terminator model". There would have had to have been something in there to stop them from just escalating after the first model failed and sending a nuclear device back in time on the second go (aside from plot reasons of course). I mean there's no reason to not go overkill the first time or after the first failed attempt unless there was a future where Skynet nuked humanity to the detriment of a machine future

Well, apparently you don't look at replies, haha, but if you do, we really appreciate you doing that for us! First class! Yeah, that makes sense they want to be efficient. There will be a lot of cool discussions for this series for sure!

Most cash cows are milked til way after their ass is long dead and buried - the only one I can think of right now that didn't happen to is Back to the Future (unless you count some lazy-ass cartoon, non-canon comics, and some video games out of which the one in 2011 was actually pretty good). I mean sure, if a 4th would come out, hell yeah I would watch it because... "IT'S BACK TO THE FUTURE!!!", but I wouldn't have high expectations, and I know (as much as I crave more material of that universe) that they made the best decision ever to just stop the buck right there. Golden.
