Still. I wouldn't waste a unit. I know technically it was sitting right on the annihilation front-line & is used as stationary firing platform as Skynet may need that particular unit right there to keep the lines filled. Could've send repair drones & or other machines design for that task which Skynet would definitely had to make sure it can move when it needs to just in-case.

They probably were but it was only immobilized so the guns were still in use and could be used as a static weapon

The unit was damaged but still functional, simply immobile. They likely just hadn't reached it yet and being they send drones and Terminators after you to try and stop you from destroying it during the fight they were likely going to.

Stands to reason Skynet has the knowledge and means to repair/maintain the things it builds, but there is also likely a triage process since it would know there is a finite amount of usable resources...units that get "killed" or damaged beyond a certain threshold likely get cannibalized, the intact parts first being used as spares to fix other units with the excess being recycled to go into new units.
