When I saw this back in the 90s, people were booing the Cyberdyne person giving the intro spiel right from the outset. The actor was loving the heat and giving it right back, threatening the throw people out. I'm surprised to see the cheers and woos because I remember the show a different way!

saw this 13 years ago, probably before it was shut down for good, my friend had a crush on the actress playing 'kimberley' that day and was upset when she got choke slammed through the stage lol. She kinda reminded me of Shirley Manson who was the Terminator CEO in the Sarah Connor Chronicles show, I wondered if that was intentional on the show's part.

I lived in Miami and Orlando during much of the the 'Battle Across Time" run at Universal Orlando and was lucky enough to get experience it several times (5ish times?), between 1995-2003. Nevertheless, this was the performer that I always associated with those memories despite only seeing her the first time....nearly 30 years later. she is likely almost a senior citizen by now (I'm no spring chicken myself) and that blows my mind. I would have been 11-12 during my first visits which would've been in September of 1995 and q1 of 1996.

This restoration is fantastic! And the attraction... I can't help but feel it influenced, or at the very least predicted, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Terminator Salvation. I mean think about it: An Arnie-Bot protecting a young adult John Connor from a T1000 inspired machine? Basic premise of T3 and description of The Terminatrix. Mini HKs? PROMINENTLY featured in Terminator 3. A mostly-future setting, climax set in Skynet's hub and a chase with an Aerial HK? Stuff that happened in Terminator Salvation. In fact, at the end of its life cycle they changed the pre-show to make nods to Project Angel aka. Marcus, that film's protagonist. Considering of the many Terminator sequels, 3 and Salvation were the ones made with the involvement of Stan Winston, I wouldn't be surprised if he bought back these ideas for the last two entries of the original tetralogy, or if the filmmakers WISELY decided to take ideas presented here and run with them in their attempts to make new sequels.... Coincidentally, they're also the lesser of the evils In my opinion. (The Sarah Connor Chronicles is, from what I've seen, overhyped and dreadful with a truly butthurt fanbase, Genisys was a shameless cashgrab attempting to make the first two movies irrelevant through retconning them and rightfully bombed at the box office, and Dark Fate... we don't talk about Dark Fate) Stan was the man, he was a big reason why the first two movies are so fantastic and why 3 and Salvation are the lesser of the evils, and he will still be remembered for his excellent effects work throughout these first four movies and this ride.
@emilefoxhall315511 ай бұрын
I agree, I am one of the lesser few who absolutely enjoyed Salvation for what it was. It wasn't the best but certainly not the worst either. It had a great story.

I actually am not a part of the fan base of SCC, as I have only seen clips, but it seemed like a fun, interesting show, for what it was. No reason to be a douche and so incendiary about it, when the rest of your comment was so thoughtful and far less “dick-ish.” The last thing this fandom needs more of is negativity, regardless of your opinions, especially when you admittedly hadn’t seen the show either, and apparently it at least tried to be respectful to the property where it could for an expanded tv series for the time. Hell, even the “final” movie Genisys had some interesting “alternate timeline/What If?” moments and set-pieces, for all its MANY, many faults. And that’s the end of the films. If there were another film after Genisys, I’m sure it would have a few good points, even if it was an awful, absolute trash fire insulting nightmare of a film. But since there IS no further films that we don’t I mean can’t mention, let’s try to pick out the positives. After all, it’s a convoluted time travel/alternate reality/non-sequential series narrative…we can also use our head canon to cherry-pick lol, and SCC is the LEAST of the offenders. 🙂
