Tern Vektron P9 | Electric folding Bike Review

fourdogstoveco I just bought a Tern Vektron P9 and I am greatly impressed with the total system. I already have the Tern elink 7i that I have had now for two years and been very happy with it. I live in the country so I ride a lot on back country trails as well as dirt roads. Vektron P9 is a great improvement on the elink and the elink is a great little bike ! I have rode the elink hard and look forward to do the same with the wife on the Vektron P9. We can easily put both in the back of are CRV Honda and camping gear for the weekend and off we go ! Where both in are mid sixty's with a life time of wear and tear and looking forward with are Tern ebikes to keep biking into are 70tys !

I commute by Brompton regularly, but have many miles logged on Stromer bikes.

What kind of sensor does it have? Cheap PAS or bottom bracket torque sensor?

Mid drives like this have torque sensing, speed sensing, and cadence sensing all build into the drive unit. Smoothest PAS system around!

I own the Vektron P9 and I like it. But it's difficult for me to take the battery off as the surface is so slick. The bosch seems easier to handle. Any hack how to ease taking battery off? Glue or paint or tape?

$2599 is not affordable..... its a rich mans toy basically. You can easily buy a car with that money or pay for public transport for the next 2 or 3 years. An affordable ebike would be under $600

You'd be hard pressed to find a solid regular bicycle for $600 let alone electric...

I would not rely on a $2500 car... and I really wouldn't want to pay for gas, insurance, maintainence, and parking too. With a bike you can also subtract health club dues, psychologist fees, and many of your medical bills.
