One tip is to soak these before putting into the soil. Help them from breaking and if they’re dry at first they may suck moisture out of the soil for a bit.

*What is the Gospel?* The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Romans 10:9 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. JESUS CHRIST can come anytime! REPENT OF YOUR SINS Just Believe ❤️ Love you and GOD BLESS

It's been a year since you shared this fantastic video. I am wondering whether you still love the spikes, and any new learnings. Also, I watched a video review where someone said that the weight of the liter-size glass wine- bottle will break the terracotta spike quite often after about 3 or 4 months. Has that been your experience?

Any more aesthetic option than random bottles sticking out of the plants? A major reason I have plants is for the aesthetic.

Anything that is a container that will hold water and fit in the hole. It just cant be to big or it tips over. You dont have to use old bottles,..but there are some beautiful shaped and colorful wine bottles out there! Ive also used a pretty cool looking blue diamond vinegar jar I found at a yard sale. There are some pretty olive oil bottles too.

You don’t need to use a bottle at all. The spike itself is a water reservoir, and since it’s buried in the soil, it won’t be visible. You’ll just have to refill it more often. If you do want an additional water reservoir on top of the soil without having to use a bottle, there are other spikes that have a decorative reservoir. I have one that looks like a frog with 1/2 cup capacity and several that look like a bird with 1 cup capacity. All by Scheurich. They are more decorative than the bottles. You’ll just have to fill the water reservoir more often. The bottles are useful for when you’re on holidays. If you don’t want the water reservoir on top of the soil at all, look up the Blumat spikes. They have a system where the spikes get the water from a separate container. You can get a decorative container for the water.

i bought some of these, but when i checked after a week the soil was very dry. i soaked the terracotta for over two hours to penetrate the micro holes in the terracota. did i do something wrong? there’s still water in my wine glass too that i used so i’m not sure what went wrong

Not sure maybe tey soaking again with a little dish soap or vinegar to open it up more. I havent had that problem. Maybe even leave it overnight🥰

Could your soil be hydrophobic? When the soil has been dry for very long, it loses its capacity to absorb water.
@kevinh5212Ай бұрын
@@SylphadoraI was thinking this If this is a consistent problem and you're doing this in the garden, I would suggest waiting until winter and then digging everything out and replacing the top 30cm or so of the soil with a bag of soil -- preferably one which has the right water drainage you're looking for and then supplement with this only if necessary

If the Terracotta Plant Watering Spikes are filled to the top about how many days will water last before needing to refill?
@HOMEGROWNthang2 жыл бұрын

How much does each one cost?

Its' kinda funny being mad that you didn't find the $20 ones first time. And I would be too. But it's kinda nothing in the grand scheme of things. People pay $5 for a coffee at Starbucks and then piss it away. These spikes are an investment that will save you time and effort. Like one time I drove to a different Crappy Tire to buy firestarters because the one near me didn't have the ones I like. Or rather they had them, but in a box instead of the package and it ends up being 16 cents instead of 12 cents per. But like, how much did I spent on gas to go to the other store lol? Anyway you cut these types of things are better money spent some of the other crap people buy.

Do I need to worry about using the spikes in potted vegetables with glass wine bottles on a wood deck. I'm speaking of a fire hazard? Just something that I'm concerned about.
@HOMEGROWNthang2 жыл бұрын
You can use them about anywhere..not sure where the fire hazard comes in🤔

@@karenclement7903 That is soo intersting!. I knew this but never thought of that! You could replace it with maybe a 2 liter bottle or pop bottle but wind would keep blowingnit out
