Sand around buried pipes for drainage. (And likely easier to get them to be nicely against the soil, as sand is more formable?) IIRC sand or gravel is commonly used when burying pipes irl, and nullius is pretty heavy on the "realistic" part :)

Was a mistake made programming the probes, or did someone deliberately set out to seed the galaxy with Biters? Maybe this is predicting a future where Factorio players, hungering for the most realistic mod possible, worked together to deploy Von Neumann probes and turn the entire galaxy into a giant game of Factorio?
@bingusbongus980712 күн бұрын
i think the idea is that biters are a necessary part of the ecosystem and a complete non-issue to proper human settlements as in normal factorio you are just one guy who had most of his tech break down so the main human empire probably has like gun turret damage 8 billion researched

If megabasing is more your style, Nullius isn't going to be very fun, it's got lots of annoying tangled recipe chains that make it hard to build at scale. I think you'd prefer something like Krastorio or Space Exploration.

@@stinkystink9830 just take it slow! It's overwhelming as a new player to jump in and immediately think, "I'm going to launch a rocket." Start small, focus on getting burner miners going, then starting up the power grid, then playing with assemblers, and so on.
