Honestly the coolest part of this is that you arent just terraforming a planet, but doing it using almost solely stuff already on the planet. Most terraforming concepts need stuff brought in but nope we're just gonna chemistry real hard

If you're interested in it, there's a lot of research and discussion around in-situ resource usage (ISRU) in the real world, primarily around the "Mars Direct" plan to send a ship to mars that refuels itself using the Sabatier reaction and electrolysis. That's one reason methane is attractive as a propellant. It's also relevant to earthside chemistry as a way to use up excess power production from wind and solar, at somewhere around 40-50% efficiency.

I appreciate these edited Factorio runs so much. I know it's a ton more work per hour of video, but it makes things much more watchable. Thanks!

The biological science is so cool! Once again, you're inspiring me to give Nullius another shot. Maybe I'll last more than 3 days without my brain melting this time. Excited for the rest of this series.

“Rutile, which, if you’re a NERD (…)” Yeah. Seems about right. I knew about it from my Nomifactory Gregtech playthrough, and was like “yo, look, it’s circular here, too”, but as seems par for the course in Nullius, it’s not entirely a closed loop, in that it needs Argon. It’s funny seeing the similarities and differences between them. Like the fact that styrene-butadiene rubber is the best rubber there, but not here. Quite glad I’m not playing this or Gregtech New Horizons, because both seem like more pain than I can handle. Nomifactory is painful, but not that bad. Actually somewhat fun! (Having infinite basic resources is good.) Also, after seeing your Compact Claustrophobia episode, I started it a good while back. Finally finished playing it yesterday, shortly after getting back to university. Probably not gonna be doing any of the Challenges. Just kinda surprised at how easy it felt to make Crystal Binder Composite after playing Nomifactory at home, and how “fast” progress was after the fusion reactor.

In my opinion GTNH is enjoyable up until IV, then at around LuV it starts to fall off a lot for me, i'd honestly recommend it, and maybe stop after assline or fusion if you need a good goal, but after that it became way less enjoyable, stopped being a factorio-like which turned me away
@FooFoo42309 ай бұрын
Hah. Yeahhh, I think NomiFactory is Greg enough for me. I love the _idea_ of GTNH, with integrating magic into it, the GT++ Multiblocks having massive boosts, heck, even the Stargate and DTPF, and all that, BUT the whole “always be mining” thing (not that Nomi doesn’t have that, but you get access to iron, copper, diamonds (to power Numismatic Dynamos), redstone, a bunch of the basic resources, fairly early on), the “woe be upon ye: WATER CREEPER”, the ME System taking a *ton* of work, generally unlocking stuff *way* later (it’s, what, UHV that you get access to infinite ores through the Space Elevator, whereas it’s like, HV/EV that you get access to Microverse Miners in Nomi?), all that stuff makes me think that GTNH is _probably_ not for me until after I’ve finished NomiFactory, which will be a good long while, given that I’m in Cool Leg and I can only play Nomi on my home computer on break, and there’s no way in heck my laptop’s gonna be able to deal with GTNH. But yeah! I probably _will_ try it sometime, preferably with a friend or two. Until then, I have Threefold videos! Edit: Bolded some stuff, italicized others.

I am playing the same mode (I think also maximus) but I found some steps missing - there is no astronomical science (data) in your mod - can you please check why it is missing? Did I play even more full-packed mod than you are playing? In your setup do you have to shoot rockets, get mining drones to bring down to surface copper and uranium?
@ripecontext9 ай бұрын
There is astronomical science, I’m just not there yet. You might not have updated to the version that moved some of the biology stuff into physics science
