Someone made a comment to me recently, that they were, “proud of me”, for “stretching” myself and “stepping outside my comfort zone”, because I was using other colors than what I usually use. I’m positive they meant well but I felt slightly defensive in my heart, of the fact that I love the colors I love and up until that moment, I hadn’t felt any doubts about my color selections because they had always just made me so happy. I told myself to just dig my hills in, (privately, I didn’t need to say anything to that person), and unapologetically, keep doing what makes myself happy when I’m creating art. Your artwork is cheerful but at the same time eccentric. Would love to see your characters in coloring books. Question: Do you think this Terrain set is more on the opaque side or are they more translucent? I ask because from here they look like a gouache.

Oh thanks! I do have some books (like 19 lol) and these are classic watercolors. They are not opaque. I just was working directly from the palettes for the most part so they are more concentrated than if I have made them into a watery mix on a separate palette - which is a more typical application!
