Also, the vision sensors will have to be cleaned fairly often. No mowing in rain as that would introduce rain drops in front of the "eyes".

@@Crazypostman Since new Mammotion mower models also ship with stereoscopic cameras, this visual mapping could be implemented in a similar way. It is more of a software implementation problem with Mammotion. So far, Yuka is not able to drive straight when depending on visual mode. I have a place between buildings that is about 6 meters wide, there is no "fix" status GPS signal, Yuka is not even close able to drive one line near the next. It even ends up out of the green and gets stuck if some obstacles are on the ground, on the paved walkway about a meter away from the lawn. Mammotions visual mode needs some work.

Hi Crazypostman, you’ve installed Terra near the air conditioner which seems like a bad idea since the hot air blowing out might induce her to overheat?

Ok, so this is a totally dumb question: What brand A/C unit do you have (looking at the unit outside your house next to the base) and do you recommend it? I'm a fan of yours and value your opinion. We seem to think the same way on a lot of things... (As a Luba 1 owner, I'm not sure I'm into Terramow just yet - but the future of AI is exciting. I think I'll wait until Mammotion tries AI...)

Not a reply but a question... my yard is a little less than a half acre. I would have 3 zones, front, back and side. Appears it can handle that but just need to confirm. Can it? Do you have an email address I can use to contact you to discuss?

@@engineer_sooner Agreed. It does seem like a great little mower, but I wouldn't officially endorse it until it's on Amazon, or some well-known big box store. That's just gonna have to be y'all's personal decision. It seems very likely they're going to be successful, but you can never be 100% certain with Kickstarter.

So, after you read the full heavy-duty instruction book, were you correct that it doesn't do night-time mowing? If so, probably because no light available. I guess no infra-red (or some sort of night vision). Is there a setting for it to resume automatically since you had to kickstart it the next morning? What about a rain sensor so it can return home? What is its scheduling capability? Good to see it didn't fall into Duck's areas. And I am not gonna complain about the heat here in NY after seeing what you're having to deal with. I hope you work in an A/C-comfort lcation. This won't work for me as my lawn is an acre or so. But I do like watching your videos.
@Crazypostman
@Crazypostman Ай бұрын
@@bikenyI'm still learning it. That was literally the first mow I ever did. It doesn't seem to be able to mow at night. It does have a light. It's not infrared. It's a visible light. Yes, it does have a rain sensor. It's supposed to resume automatically. Not sure why it didn't. Yes, I would say this is just for small yards. It goes pretty slow and has a narrow cut path, but there doesn't seem to be any hard limit on maps. You would just get to a point to where it physically wouldn't be able to cut it all in time. Especially during daylight hours only.

This is very interesting. The only problem for me is that I have no fences between my yard and my neighbors. I have like 140 feet on each side that butts up with my neighbors. How will it know not to mow my neighbors yard? I know you can set up no go areas, but I have like 280 feet of neighbor's border to define. How would I do that without errecting a fence?
@Crazypostman
@Crazypostman Ай бұрын
@@larryhansen9003 Good question, I'm not super experienced with Terramow yet. But there's a couple ways I would think it could be combated. The easiest way would probably just be let your neighbor know what you're doing and go ahead and let TerraMow map everything. It doesn't mow on a mapping run. Once the map is established, you can create a virtual barrier. Another way would be while it's mapping It goes in rows. So you know where it's going to be before it's there. You could just do A strip of no-go-zone tape and then just keep moving it further down while it's mapping. Those are two things I would try.
@Crazypostman
@Crazypostman Ай бұрын
@@larryhansen9003 TerraMow is only rated for 1200 m² Your area might be too big. I guess that depends on how wide your property is. Is it just long and skinny?
@larryhansen9003
@larryhansen9003 Ай бұрын
@@Crazypostman I have around 8000 square feet to mow so the 1200 should work fine. The temporary no go zone tape which comes with the mower would work for the neighbor's border if they provide you with enough of it. But something tells me they do not give you 280 feet of it.
@user-oi1sx4wk2f

I was thinking about this. I have a bunch of plastic yard posts already and I can buy a long roll of CAUTION tape and just wrap it around the posts near the bottom. That should work for a great distance. Then, after mapping, just pull the posts and tape.
@Crazypostman
@Crazypostman 24 күн бұрын
@@user-oi1sx4wk2f I have a suspicion to get the automatic no-go zone It has to be the correct design If you just put a roll of caution tape out it will just avoid it like an obstacle not a no-go zone and won't save it.

@@jimmyli8129 No doubt, but the Terra Vision and obstacle detection is sooo far ahead of mammotion it seems from just a few days of testing. The Luba and Yuka are also larger and can cover more ground easily and quicker. Right now, I would still recommend Luba, but that's only Because TerraMow is still in Kickstarter phase. Once it becomes available, I would certainly recommend it For small yards, 1k m² and under, and Luba, I would recommend for 1k m² and up.
