The beggining of that songs brings me back memories... First night after unlocking hard mode... Rain begins to fall... "You feel vibrations from deep below..." Oh my... something's coming.... Better prepare myself I was there with some improvised platforms. Just in case, this should be enough... 0:00 "The Destroyer has awoken..." 0:00 - 0:15 The destroyer appeared... The percusions of the song creating that earthquake feeling to it... The Destroyer just not rushed to me right away... it was just there... as an infinity symbol (∞) This huge robotic worm was just taking it's head out now and then ... Just to watching its pray shake in fear... 0:16 onwards. The destroyer buried underground and headed direct to me... Direct hit! I got really scared but there was nothing left to do but fight... Taking 60 DMG from the head and about 20 to 30 DMG from the lasers. The molten armor wasn't just enough... I was barely making 30 damage to it... 30dmg to destroy that huge 8000HP beast! It was clear to me... I can't beat this thing... HP Running low. "I Have to retreat to the upper part of my house and wait to heal, it can't reach me there" I started flying but then... The destroyer probes appeared from nowhere, I didn't realized that The Destroyer was able to spawn those "Where the hell did those came from?" The Destroyer Probes surrounded me and started to shoot me non-stop. I died mid air... Then every 3 or 5 in-game nights... The Destroyer came back... just to Kill me again... The Twins and the Sketon Prime apearred too... but just once each... But the Destroyer kept appearing... Destoying me even when I though i got better armor and weapons... I died a lot to that beast. But then one night he came... I was ready, this time for real. I had this Adamantite armor and these cool weapons +12 armor from accesories and a shitloead of weapons and the nurse prepared to heal in the newly created arena. Designed specifically to fight the destroyer. He came from underground and it was still able to put me to 100hp really quicky. He almost killed me but in the end I were able to win... and then I got this... "The Destroyer Throphy" It wast the best moment in my Terraria life! "The destroyer has been defeated..." I'll never forget you... my deariest terraria foe.

I live in space. First time it spawned. I was using a nimbus rod directly from beginning of hard mode. LUCKY. And my nights edge. It was a hard battle, But I was in space, I live there and I had the advantage. I was standing there on an artificial grass platform armed. And my worst nightmare just inches below me. Best night of my life! And the hardest.

Version 1.3 should have an upgraded Brain of Cthulhu boss for hard mode in Crimson Biomes called the Elder Brain. The Elder Brain would be roughly the same size as the Brain of Cthulhu, but it starts off surrounded by metalic spears, each one having a turret which fires a glowing ring at the player. The turrets could move independently of the brain and the brain could turn invisible. When all of the turrets are killed, the Elder Brain would gain a metalic mouth and eye, then fly around to ram the player. However in this state it could also teleport up above the player and fire a rainbow colored beam at them. Yes, this is a reference to Mother Brain from Metroid.

First point: The metalic bosses are roughly the same size as their non metalic counterparts, though with "The Twins" you could say it's twice the size since there's 2 of them so it makes sense for this hardmode version of the Brain of Cthulhu to be the same size. But yes, that's what I'm thinking. In worlds with Crimson, it would be an alternate boss. Instead of The Destroyer, you'd fight that, but it would still drop the same souls the Destroyer drops. Hmm. Maybe it needs a better name, but I'm not sure of one.

You gotta love how this is used for threatening bosses throughout its life Destroyer, big and menacing, a large mechcanical worm with a surplus of lasers and will not hesitate to kill your npcs to get to you. Brain of Cthulu, the mastermind of the Crimson, with illusions and bloody auras all around. The Torch God, a never-present yet always watching being who shows anger to you and will act on it when it happens. *The fucken snowman mafia, holy shit my npcs died to it so much. It’s scary.*

Destroyer completely struggles against melee fighters because of it's relatively low damage and all the hearts you can collect, the design of it also allows certain magic weapons to completely destroy it, but it does very well against ranged fighters because of it's nice speed and minions. Skeleton Prime is the more classic boss type and therefore struggles against ranged and magic fighters.

You absolutely aren't - I've never had an issue fighting prime, and in expert mode this is just amplified. It doesn't really change much with him, he's still as simple as ever to maneuver around. Destroyer, on the other hand, will rip me apart if I make a misstep. 280 impact damage is nothing to scoff at. Yes, I know, I could very easily make the fight trivial and build a cheese arena. Where's the sport in that, though? :3 +Neko Warrior Ranger always seemed to be rather strong against the Destroyer IMO, as long as you're quick with your mobility. A Clockwork Assault Rifle with Crystal Bullets will work wonders against that segmented boss. Melee, on the other hand, is a tossup. In normal mode, it does fairly well against destroyer. In expert mode, melee will get ripped apart if you're not careful. ;P I suppose it depends on the your play-style, when it comes down to it.

I mean seriously, he has barely any good pattern to understand, and shoots so many lasers combined with those of his drones, I find him quite a bitch to beat without very good defense and offense. I find the Twins the hardest mostly cause of Spazmatism second form although there first form is easy I find Skeletron prime the easiest Some parts the about the Destroyer medium and hard Twins sortof easy and hard....... Retinazer is easy even in second phase same with Spazmatism until second form which is the hardest.............. So basically Skeletron Prime > The Destroyer > The Twins

Villager Crossing Fight them chase-style. Build a huge long platform that goes on for maybe over a thousand blocks and just run away from them and shoot them with a Clockwork Assault Rifle. (Preferably Crystal bullets) Once you hit the edge of the platform, turn around and go the other way. Works really well for me.

Now in the 1.2 patch, similarly to how EoC spawns himself randomly if you have high enough armor, Destroyer does that as well when engaging hardmode. And hmm. Just playin' Terraria 1.2 survival, and the FIRST hardmode night when im just mining cobalt, it spawns himself. WHEN I HAVE MOLTEN ARMOR ._. ReLogic pls. No im NOT Yrimir I cant beat him with molten armor and a waterbolt! I cant even beat him with mythril or palladium armor and decent hardmode ranged and meelee weapons either! 1.3 EDIT: Ah, ReLogic fixed it! Seems as if the bosses dont spawn until you have good enough armor (Destroyer decided to appear once I had full Oricalchum melee set).

I figured out the easiest way to beat the Destroyer. Step 1: Build a Skybridge (however long) 250-300 feet above the ground. Step 2: Add a honey pool, heart lantern, heart statue, and campfire to the skybridge. Step 3: Obtain a Nimbus Rod. Step 4: Don't you dare cheat that Nimbus Rod in. Step 5: NO! Step 6: BAD! DON'T YOU DARE! Step 7: You just cheated it in, didn't you... Step 8: Summon the Destroyer (at night) and sit in the honey pool. At first he'll be up on your skybridge with you if you decided to build it a bit short of 300 feet, but eventually he'll go down like a good doggy. Step 9: Fire both Nimbus Clouds to the bottom of the honey pool. If they're at the bottom, they will pass through and hit the Destroyer constantly. Step 10: Re-apply the clouds as needed and Ta-da!

Easiest way to defeat destroyer: 1. Create a server with plugins 2. Get a bunch of friends 3. Turn on invincibility(opt) 4. Spawn in a Megashark with infinite ammo, +9999 speed and +628376 damage 5. Turn on noclip 6. /spawn destroyer(speed-50)(health=1)(size*0.25)(drops*10) 7. Don't disable invincibility 8. Enjoy being OP

Brain of Cthulhu: The most easiest boss in terraria. If you kill the Creepers they will drop hearts everywhere. And, the Brain of Cthulhu's HP is 2,000. The truly most important thing is 'He is sleeping in the Crimson, and the other monsters are stronger than the boss!

1: 80000HP does jack diddly when your body consists of 82 segments that all share a HP pool. Say you have a rocket launcher - something that hits the Twins for 100 damage will hit for 1000 against the Destroyer if you even an eighth of its body. Or maybe you've stacked up on Jester's Arrows - congratulations, with a Hallowed Repeater, you're doing an unmodified 53 damage per shot per body section. With random damage deviation, buffs, and crits, this can go even higher, making a single arrow deal well over a thousand damage on its own, maybe more. And if you're playing a melee character, just drag the Dao of Pow or a Glaive across its body work - _loadsadamaaaage_ 2: I'll admit, the lasers are a bit tough. 44 unmodified damage is nothing to sniff at. But this only becomes a problem if you walk into battle wearing only what god gave you at character generation. Even a player wearing magic-oriented Titanium armour is mitigating 15 points of damage per hit on their own, reducing the lasers to 29 damage per hit. The probes are a bit worse, dealing 50 unmodified damage, but they're weak enough that you can swat them out of the air without too much difficulty. 3: The Destroyer's defence is slightly above average for a Mechanical boss, so I don't see why you're bringing it up. Because again, the Destroyer's sheer number of body parts ensures that any hit you land will likely hit multiple times.
