My best guess is that there are two versions of the shadow hand attack. One trys predict where you are gonna be based on movement direction and speed, the other aims directly for the player's current location. Since you're moving back and forth at such high speed, the predictive hands spawn way off to either side to try and catch you. But since you're never really moving off the spot, the targeted hands still hit

I think that Terraria has room for a LOT of Crossovers. There are just so many games that would vibe with the style. That being said, I also hope they don't do too many. Crossovers are nice, but not if the content ends up oversaturating original Terraria gameplay.

Love this idea. Could add a Minecraft Villager who sells various Minecraft themed vanity, and Diamond Armor using Terraria Diamonds. Meanwhile the Eye of Cthuhlu could do what it does best, and become a Boss in Minecraft, that drops Corrupt Seeds that let you start spreading the Corruption in your Minecraft worlds.

@@triggerhappy4199 i mean there are multiple really good mods that add copper and amethyst well before minecraft decided to introduce them, plus terrariacraft literally changes the way minecraft works to make it as similar as possible to terraria, a collab wouldn't do that and would instead try to make the boss/additions work within the rules and playstile of minecraft.

To anyone wanting to try this in expert mode: I recommend increasing the amount of bookcases since positioning Deerclops even slightly imperfectly might cause his third atack to hit you, knocking you off

In Expert, With Meteorite Armor, full Warding accessories, and basic buffs, you can actually just facetank him to death, with your back against a wall. He's got a lot of health, and each hit does heavy damage, but his overall DPS is surprisingly low comparitively.

Might just be me, but a Hollow Knight/Silksong crossover would be neat. Hollow knight: spells that deal more damage, but you need to hit enemies to gain soul to cast the attacks, big dash, new health bar, and a new weapon which deals set amount of damage and can be upgraded 5 times with metal bars such as iron/lead, hell stone, hollowed bars, specter bars, and luminite. Silksong: (This typing has been removed because of spoilers and also the fact that the game is not out yet)

generally, the shadowhands spawn and head straight on to their target, which is good against enemies like pixies and possessed armors , having similarities to enemy possessed weapons (sword for hallow, axe for crimson). But in this case, the tiny bump spam minecart makes the shadowhand targeting insanely fast, that the player seems like a dot, in a finite line, traveling in light speeds, making the player look like a touhou player in the shadowhand pov.

It is simple fighting him normally. Get a hambat and a few log suits just incase. Get any insulation headgear like beefalo hat or winter hat and summon a dwarf star. Or light up a campfire or fire pit. From here simply bait out an attack 3 hits and dodge. Keep doing this until you kill him.

I've got a question, are the bookcases nessecary? Could you instead replace them with tables, another 3 wide, but only 2 tall, furniture item. Particularly if they were atop platforms instead of solid blocks maybe?

The ice wave will spawn from platforms, even if they are above Deerclops. Also you can find bookcases in underground houses or the underworld, the dungeon books are faster is all.

If i had to guess, to make the game mote balanced, the faster you move, the farther the hands will spawn from you, which is why they spawn from so far away, and since you are changing directions, i'm assuming that the hands slow down/speed up based on the direction you are moving, since you are changing directions so fast, they basically don't move, unless they are right above/below you since you technically aren't moving in those directions, the hands don't have an issue with going to you

If you are doing this in the getfixedboi seed, you can get Obsidian bookcases in ruined houses in the underworld, you can also get bookcases from underground cabins

When fighting Deerclops "legit," the hands always seem to spawn further away in an attempt to predict your movements or force you out of position. It's like leading your shots, but the enemy is doing it. I'm assuming that the movement from the minecart is causing the AI to think this way, similar to how using a minecart or the use of autojump helps some enemies spawn in afk farms. This would also make sense of the hands spawning further away the faster you go, since they'd have to in order to try and hit you. I believe other enemies try and do this as well, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Honestly you don’t even need to really cheese deerclops for it to be easy, yeah they actually are pretty hard for a normal mode boss but they don’t despawn after you die, pretty sure they only leave if they’re left alone for a few minutes or if everyone leaves, so you could just keep throwing yourself at the boss and eventually kill it

Or you can just build room with bed nearby and damage him, die from few hits, respawn, repeat UNLIMITED amout of times and it wont despawn because of re-logic logic. But Mappys one is great for hardcore

Another way to cheese it is, with enough defense, regen and attack just go under it and attack. Only every the third ice spike attack can hurt you and no other attacks can be use. I suggest using a cobalt shield to avoid knockback and you basically will always kill it.

Deerclops is one of my favorite bosses in the game, I used to fight him on platforms so he couldn't throw ice boulders and it was effective but this tactic just sounds like "hey, why bother? relax"
