I suspect the new Terraria boardgame CF has helped. But, there is a risk/history tied to the board game makers that I hope doesn't come about.

Corporate sales never matter. Customer sales do at least. Even then, quality matters than quantity.

Terraria was, is and always will be incredible. While it may not overcome 3d sandbox games when it comes to construction, the crafting, boss fights, environments and atmosphere crush games such as Minecraft.

oh, I was listening to a terraria playthrough when this came in. i mean, yeah... the games solid, moddable, and otherwise customizable by a supreme deal.

Terraria is an amazing game, and prefer it over Minecraft. Terraria while 2d has more creativity then Minecraft, as people have produced a lot of great pixel art.

I mean yeah, we're comparing a current generation game that is being updated and bug fixed nearly monthly, at the very least, to a game that was released in the '80s and that was it. The comparison here between these two things is silly. But still, congrats to the developers for getting to where they are now. That is quite a milestone.

The thing about Terraria is that it has been kind of the best kept secret in gaming. It's hugely popular, but nobody really talks about it. And it's easy to see why, it's a phenomenal game.

I loved Terraria, although the community was just a bunch of gatekeepers. It was something with setting up a multiplayer server; they were such gatekeepers. The "How dare you ask a question. Reader our poorly worded forum posts that don't answer your questions." I remember the jackass still: You come into our house and ask a question, how dare you! That was back in the early days.

I have played WAAAAY too many hours of Terraria, and I highly recommend it. Terraria: Otherworld was being developed for a while, but was canceled, and Terraria 2 is a thing that may eventually happen. The original game was going to continue receiving bugfixes and the like, but no new content was to be added, anymore. However, for various reasons (like receiving the Labor of Love Steam Award) they have released some updates with added game content, and are due to have another one out in the near future.
