Tip: get a homing weapon when go to jungle, rainbow rod for example. It will help you: -Kill off-screen hornets. -Slowdown those turtles and resets their attack. -Kill bats before they get to you. A mushroom spear may also help dealing with man eaters and angry trappers.

I'm very late, but stopping the corruption entirely is nigh impossible. I like to do something crazy. I split my world in half horizontally so that the underground crimson stays near Hell, where it belongs. Makes purifying the surface much easier. Also make the horizontal tunnel pretty tall and remove all corruptible walls. Maybe add a rail for minecarts
