Terraria's most time consuming boss cheese

Note that this isn't limited to Tier 3 OOA. You can definitely sentry stack for lower tiers, though that'd be even harder since lesser tiers give you less mana (then again, they take less time, too). Also, you don't necessarily have to reach the cap of 500 or 1,000... do some math and use as many as you need. Even 100 explosive traps will debilitate basically everything that touches them (dealing around 30,000 damage per hit with good gear).

Apparently nobody else found this out but if you just place them on the air block to the right and one up from the platform you can place at the the rod's maximum speed and without actuators/timers

Another time consuming method for cheesing bosses I've used is just spamming explosive bunnies in a box.

Before they patched the multiplayer itemframe dupe this was so fun to use since you could just dupe all the mana instantly. Even just summoning 100 balistas around the arena for moonlord was such a fun time. Miss that dupe

you can cut the wiring off by be close to the platform then place the sentry next to the platform. it will spawn the platform right in the air and fall down then you can keep placing the sentry. also faster i guess

You could theoretically duplicate Etherian Mana faster by using 2 instances, having 1 host the server, and the other one log on, collect all of it, save their player by logging off, rejoin, drop all of it. alt f4/task manager/something else force quit to not save player, and repeat. This is just a version of the one instance chest item doubling dupe, except one player stays on to keep old ones army going so it doesn't despawn the Etherian Mana. Just an idea and idk if it would work, might test later today. Edit: Just tested it, this works. Edit 2: I have 10 stacks of Etherian Mana. Edit 3: It just disappeared for some reason I didn't open it while old ones army was active. Also because force quitting(due to not saving) can be used to dupe, and alt f4 is a way of force quitting, its technically not wrong to say that you can press alt f4 to dupe items, just misleading due to it not being the only step needed.

a faster method of placing down the sentries is to click between 2 platforms spaced 1 block apart,that way you can spawn them as fast as you can instead of every second. also its a way do this trick pre skeletron

Yeah, that works, I guess... or, OR, you could literally just spam 995 beachballs into a small square and every boss is literally incapable of shooting projectiles. Forever. It doesn't even take long to spam so many, 20 minutes at most. Absolutely worth it, but honestly felt kinda wrong since every boss became absolute garbage. I didn't earn my FTW win... So this time, I'm doing LEGENDARY MODE. Without cheese! I'm preparing to fight Duke, can't wait to destroy him. Fair and square. Pre-mech. God this'll be such an epic battle and I'm excited!

it never left, this was always an exploit of the OOA. in fact the old lightning sentries would even oneshot dungeon guardian before they patched its defense ignore out for it specificly

@@DennisYangI they never did. You can see terrasteal doing it in the video, and i doubt they would go back a few versions just to do that. Also if you look at the wiki page for this item it even states that the portable storage works with it in latter versions (implying the devs endorced this idea). Sentry stacking was made harder to do from the initial method (a regular platform no longer lets you stack without some modification).
