Today, in our full collection of MASTER MODE Thorium episodes, we make the fatal mistake of only using the Bard class on our first time ever playing Thorium! Our main goal is to become the ultimate Bard music master, but the road is atrocious. The Moon Lord and Empress of Light must fall, Plantera must be ogled at from afar, modded bosses must be dealt with. Will we be able to find our way as a Bard in this blind playthrough? Will we be able to take on the Empress of Light with a tuba? What comes after the Moon Lord?

Something I notice with this Thorium series in contrast to other terraria videos is the type of narration. The other videos have a lot of post game play story telling, but these are almost completely live commentary. Just thought that was neat.

someone probably already said this in the og video but the zunpet is a reference to zun, the creator of the touhou franchise. he likes to use a particular kind of horn sounds in the music for his games, which have been nicknamed zunpets. listen to wind god girl (aya's theme) and you'll get it. the projectiles shot by it also resemble the bullets in the games. cool little reference. its funny watching it being used in the vid cause i keep getting flashbacks to the games every time it makes a noise.

In case you didn't know, there's actually a couple of mods that add compatibility between Thorium and Calamity mod. These are the Ragnarok mod (fuses Thorium's Thrower class with Calamity's Rogue class), Unofficial Calamity Bard and Healer (calamity gear such as weapons, armor, and accessories for bard and healer class), Thorium + Calamity Convergence REDUX (changes a couple of crafting recipes and such to be more consistent such as when both mods try to do the same thing), and Thorium Bosses Reworked (the Calamity compatibility is just a side bonus, it overhauls all the Thorium bosses and makes them even more epic than usual).

dude I feel your pain I've been playing 2 player co op as a bard, my friend went summoner and deals a billion damage just from being afk me on the other hand, I've been over equipped for EVERYTHING, and somehow still die to the dumbest mobs because I don't have remotely enough damage to kill 1 stupid slime. it got to the point where I'm just reconsidering going bard, the buffs are ass so nothing really compensates for the lack of armour and damage, all it has is a billion weapons that 90% of the time are useless and just fill your inventory, and when you think you got a huge buff you get instantly humbled by everything around you. bard gameplay is literally building up hope just to crush it cause it turns out all the grinding for the weapons and stuff are just really, really bad, both in terms of the attacks and damage. meanwhile my friend solo's the ENTIRE pirate invasion straight out of pre-hardmode equipment while I'm down in the caverns fighting for my life and fishing and hoping for something better. the gameplay is NOT relaxing, it is NOT fun, it is just extremely infuriating and makes absolutely no sense for why things are just as hard as they are. takes you like 50 inspiration magazines to actually kill the dumbest npc, even while being WELL overequipped. (my friend is much less experienced than me at terraria btw) thanks for coming to my tedtalk.
