After 29 wonderful years I lost my husband to cancer. Being a widow at 53 wasn’t anything I had ever thought would happen. So yes Cynthia it is very difficult to learn how to be alone(a lot) and just miss those arms that made me feel loved,safe & happy. I was so blessed with my husband that I doubt that lightning will strike twice for me. Good luck to you & don’t give up or worse yet, settle for someone who u know isn’t the right one...

I became a widow at 46, My late husband was killed in a car accident unexpectedly, 2005, we were married 30 years Raised 2 boys, now young men with families of their own. Don't take life for granted, second chances are worth it, hang on to what you have, don't let life rob you of your dreams

I was born in Maine but in 1995 I went to live with my dad on his farm in Oklahoma. When I first heard Terri, I thought she was a Southern girl. I was surprised to learn she was from Canada so for me at the time her music was like having a piece of home. To this day, I still love country and I consider Oklahoma my home away from home.

Excellent advice that too many married people don’t receive. Growing old together is a choice.
@sarahvandeventer
@sarahvandeventer 7 жыл бұрын
The thing is being alone is a long lonely road. I have been married for almost 3 years and with the same person for 4 years. They go to work and come home and sleep and do it all over again. The year before we got married things was different. Then they finished their degree and got the job they always wanted things changed. For the past two in a half years I go to bed alone wake up alone maybe get a hour a day. Even on their days off cause they are a wake when I’m asleep and a sleep when I’m awake. So even when ur married u can still be alone.

this song is sooo true, but the important thing to remember is, if you're heart isn't truely into someone, you cannot keep stringing them along, because if they are so good, they deserve someone who is actually into them.... thats the one thing i have learnt.... don't stay just because someone is good to you, you're being selfish by doing so...

I think this song means . She is wanting something better out of life . But there ain't nothing better . You want me to lie and tell you there is something better . But I won't tell you that . My advice is if I were you I'd run back home tonight and tell him everything is alright . I know what I'd do , I'd never let him go . I'd have someone to hold my whole life through . If I were you . But I don't think thats what she wanted to hear . I gave you my advice . If I were you .

Single can be ok until around 50 ish. And then you head somewhere and realize howyoung everyone else is there. Just was in Vegas . I remember even at 40 I would see women checking me out . I still look pretty good at 66 butnot kidding anyone. I don`t get looks anymore. And trying to find a woman to date is next to impossible. If I could only have saved my marriage .

I have not seen a woman yet without a phone stuck in their face,, men you are not off the hook either.. Everyone thinks, oh ur so lucky being single u can come and go as u please. But, technically single people miss the love, relationship etc

Yes people do in some ways miss the love of a partner, however I sure as hell don't miss the bruises and the terror and the jealousy of my ex-boyfriend. I think I'd rather be alone than deal with that jackass. I don't trust men or myself anymore..... It has been 13 months since I dumped him; for about 2 months afterwards he stalked me repeatedly by showing up at my house, waltzing in like he owned it, phoning me constantly. It wasn't until I called the cops and reported it, the cops went over to his house and had a little chat with him that it stopped. But then he started harassing me online! I ignored him and eventually he stopped doing that. So overall, I think I would very much rather be single than go through that B.S ever again.

Your ex should have his ass kicked real good 1 time. It takes a coward toput his hand on a woman . I'm glad you got out. So many won't leave when their man beats up on them. I never understood that, but I'm a man. I went to jail when i was younger for dragging a guy off of his girl and tuning him up a little. When the police got there, she lied and said i attacked him for no reason. They asked if i had hit her and did that to her face. Luckily she said no and later came clean and told the truth. I guess it was worth spending a night in jail to show that puss what it feels like to be hit in the face. Anyway, good on you for getting out and moving on.

Thank you so much! I appreciate what you wrote :) It would be nice to be with someone who doesn't believe in domestic violence as a way of coping with issues. I am so happy that you helped that girl out when she was getting attacked by that stupid prick. It's worth spending a night in jail if you end up saving a life :) The night my incident happened, I had been suffering with a cold. I was also in a horrible mood; We went to bed, and I was trying to sleep..... He kept talking, keeping me awake and getting on my nerves. I finally couldn't take it anymore so told him to shut up. He HATED to be to told to shut up..... He started freaking out and said he was hurt by what I told him. I started getting out of bed to go into another bedroom. He pushed me a little into my dresser. I said "What the hell" and walked out of the room. A bad feeling came over me when I saw him following me into the other room. I laid down on the bed, then realized I needed some cough drops that were downstairs. I decided to get up, go downstairs and grab some. As I was starting to walk out of the room, he came up and shoved really hard from behind in the dark. I fell across the room to the other side and nearly hit my head on the dresser. I was so freaked out; shaking uncontrollably from the trauma. I cried out for my mom; her and my dad were sleeping next door..... they woke up, and asked what was wrong; I told her and she confronted him. They went back to bed. I went downstairs, still shaking. He followed me, proceeded to try to intimidate me all night. He started yelling at me to try to scare me, I told him to quiet down because my parents were sleeping. He didn't give a damn about them; started yelling louder. I ignored him. Sometime the next day the bruises were quite noticeable and painful. They were on my right upper arm, elbow, and knee. The stupid thing was that I didn't break up with him then like I should have. I stayed with him for another 9 months! My reason.... I DIDN'T WANT TO BE ALONE. How messed up is that? There was also this one time I was walking with him, and I had this allergic reaction where my face swelled up from hives. I almost died..... I could have died; Yet, he never phoned the ambulance for me..... Instead he phoned my parents! WHO THE HELL DOES THAT? It was a good Samaritan who pulled over and phoned the ambulance for me. Because of her, paramedics and hospital staff, I am alive today. His parents hated me for many reasons; some I do acknowledge and others I don't. I hate them too with a vengeance. I hope someone murders them in a grisly way...... I was never good enough for their son, yet all I ever wanted at that time was to be a part of their family. Now I wish them nothing but death and putrid hate. I curse them with everything I have inside me. It's too bad I have a conscience.....otherwise I probably would have killed them all myself for everything they put me through. Thank God I am moving on to greener pastures, single and free from violence.

First off, I'm so sorry that happened to you, it was not your fault and secondly I understand the need to not wanna be alone- I stayed w/someone for that very reason when I should've kicked him to the curb...I see so many ladies in this situation and it really irks me, but it also hurts my heart because it will only continue and get worse, sometimes ending totally badly =( But it comes down to the woman wanting to leave and bettering herself- I hope today you're able to live life w/out fear and are able to live life to the fullest =)

No as a matter fact some of us ,don't secure enough in our confidence and quite content to be alone until we find the person that treats us the way we want to be treated. No more doing it half-assed.

sometimes through your own eyes there always missing in ur relationship. but sometimes what it looking for isn't always u need. what u don't realize is the best parts of u is a home. god blesses us with heaven and it is not always easily earned it's a damned hard climb to get there but once u get u will see its worth it

don't go looking for things u don't need because it's leads to trouble and circumstances u don't want . sometimes letting someone find out the hard way is the best road to take because a fight from the bottom can be best learned from. life happens and it's a poo poo run on life's highway but running from something you will find the other side of the fence is worse than where ur at right now. others who our wishing what they could have had did and they weren't satisfied with what they had. now wishes they could have it now. learn from them. because the best is right where u left it.
