Nile Niami recently built a Bel Air Giga Mansion, called "The One" measuring in at over 105,000 square foot, and being listed at over $500,000,000 million dollars. This is the largest and most expensive mansion in the world. But for some odd reason, nobody wants to buy it...

No. Robbers will get into your house, play pool, play bowling, take a nap, watch a movie, drink some wine and after 10 hours of being in the house, will finally rob something and leave. And you will not hear them or realize someone is in your house, cause you'll be at the other side of the house, living on the third floor... ;)

just to be a museum or something (tourist attraction). People going there, paying some small sum, like 1000 for 24 hours (for 1 max 2 people) if there are 3 or 4, you pay 2000 and you tour the house, spend time with other people, get together, meet new people, pay more if you make swing parties, or fuck with your girl/boy, play pool, swim, drink wine, cook etc. depends on what you want to do in the house. You pay extra. It will be a tourist atraction. And then the 50 car garage will make sense :D

I saw a $30,000,000 home with 6 rooms, 2 living areas, views of the mountains in every room, all kinds of badass stuff and it was themed like a log cabin cause it's in a super exclusive neighborhood in Aspin. You could buy 8 of those for the price of this monument to hedonism meeting pretension. And you won't have to spend a further $100,000,000 fixing the massive waste of money.

Imagine this, you live in this house, and you have a husband or wife, you're in your study room and your spouse is in the kitchen, you ask "honey? What's for dinner?" 5 and a half hours later they respond "What do you want?" So you run down the stairs, go down the hallway, and you pass Usain Bolt, he looks exhausted to the point of passing out, he hasn't even done half a lap around the house. You continue running, and then you reach the kitchen and your spouse asks "what do you want for breakfast"

@@AliciaB. I think two reasons. 1: rich people have empty husks where their personalities should be 2: a lot of these empty megamansions are used as weird tax havens to "store liquid assets". That is, they're not "real" houses that are meant to actually be lived in.
@manictiger

@@user-rx2ur5el9p Depends on your definition of "rich". I'm in the under 8 figure networth range and I'm basically retired, having dedicated an entire room to Warhammer 40k, Battletech and collectible books... And another couple rooms to survivalist stuff. The place is super decorated, looks like an over-decorated 40k palace or something. It's not a huge place, but it's my place. So, idk, not everyone who's rich is a soul-less slave-driving reptilian. Us "rich peasants" can always turn tiny amounts of cash into amazing looking things.

The design scheme is amazing. The problem is, it’s just like an empty function center. Each gallery needs a function. Okay, the main entrance hall should have twenty foot waterfalls, and feel like a grand resort. But the other areas should have different uses. If the architect and designer couldn’t conceive of a function, other than “third” or “fourth” gallery, or yet another party area, it should be scrapped. Yes, you feel like billionaires should have houses that feel like entire resorts. The ostentatious excess also reminds us how billionaires shouldn’t exist in the first place. As much as I love this house, it should either be multiple compounds, girded by tropical forestry and lazy river pools, with a gondola or two being an option to travel between the structures or tour the grounds. If you’re going to be this excessive add some resort-style fun. It’s not going to be a party there 24/7.

The Palazzo di Amore- a disgustingly tacky and gigantic spec mansion in Beverly Hills- was put on the market for $150MM, still hasn't found a buyer, and is still being rented out. I shudder to think what's going to become of this white elephant that's not even practical to rent.
