The main problem isn't "scamming" the woman into jumping in. The core problem is that she kept trying to find excuses. "She wanted to go skinny dipping with me." "I thought the wanted to be my friend" "I thought she was drunk" "I thought she worked here" "If she's mentally unstable, why do they let her near the water?" That's the behavior of someone who has never been held accountable for their actions. And to answer her last question, if the lady isn't bothering anybody at a public riverbed, they won't do anything about it...because it's a public riverbed! No complaints = no police called, it's pretty simple. I hope that the police in the area get a hold of the video and press charges for the lady so this gremlin can be held accountable.

exaggeration? did you ever went to school? you will find these kids in masses there. its "if friends laugh about my unfunny jokes, they may become funny" in germany we call these kids "mitläufer" which translates into "follower", but the meaning behind it is: "someone who does everything to please someone else" they dont care if they hurt someone, its more important to please the friend watching you. and its 1:1 what happened here, she wanted to please her friends and stream-chat no matter if someone gets hurt or loose his life, her friends and the chat were laughing, so for her she did nothing wrong, furthermore she did everything right in her little own world.

Some googling of this case reveals that this took place in Texas. I did a little bit of reading on the Texas penal code, and found a statute that mighty apply here: Sec. 22.041. ABANDONING OR ENDANGERING A CHILD, ELDERLY INDIVIDUAL, OR DISABLED INDIVIDUAL. Of note, under subsection (2)(c), we find: "A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, recklessly, or with criminal negligence, by act or omission, engages in conduct that places a child, elderly individual, or disabled individual in imminent danger of death, bodily injury, or physical or mental impairment." A spokesperson told MySA in an email the woman in the lake was "provided clothing and a way to get home." APD also notes no charges have been filed as of Friday afternoon, May 31. --- I think it's possible that charges may be filed in the future. These things do take time though. As someone who is neurodivergent and been in similar situation as this poor lady because people thought it was funny that I didn't understand situations like this and put my trust in people especially people who claimed to be my friends. It hits very close to home watching all of this, especially as the lady put trust in Natalie she even kept asking Natalie, "You'll jump in with me, right?" She asked multiple times, and each time Natalie said she would do it. Then, when it actually came down too it Natalie didn't follow up on jumping in and just left the lady stranded and refused to take any accountability. Also, to the people saying she's an adult, she should know if she can swim or not. The lady is clearly mentally ill, and not only that, she trusted Natalie too. Natalie made her feel safe, and that it was ok for her to do it and even said she'd give her money. People who are mentally ill don't always understand situations like this and can be overly trusting, especially when they've been reasured that its safe. I was like, this in high school, people would often prank me knowing I'd probably do it because I didn't understand. It really affects you too. I have major trust issues now because of it. The number of times the lady asked to makes me feel like this definitely isn't the first time people have messed with her for a cheap laugh. It's sad to see. Natalie and her friends should honestly be ashamed of themselves and, on top of that, gaslighting the lady by saying "no i didn't tell you to do that." absolutely disgusting. There were multiple people with Natalie, too, not one of them could help or go for help? Instead, they all just ran away and left this poor lady. The amount of trauma and trust issues this could cause the lady not to mention she could have drowned!!! I hope Natalie and her friends face punishment for this. I also wish people on the Internet would stop picking on the mentally ill and neurodivergent people. It's not funny or cute, to be honest. it's just gross behaviour, I'm so tired of seeing it.

Pro tip from a former city level swimmer and lifeguard. If you ever find yourself in deep or moving water, and you can’t touch the bottom with your feet and/or you start to panic, there’s an easy way to save yourself. It’s actually very easy to do. It’s called survival floating. Anyone can do it. The body naturally floats due to the amount of oxygen in your body and lungs. Even after exhaling most of the air from your lungs, most people are buoyant. When you’re full of air, you’re so buoyant that basically nothing can drown you. So, lay on your back completely face up. The majority of your body will easily float including most of your legs. Take normal breaths through your mouth, but slowly exhale to keep air in your lungs for most of the time. Go slow. No need to hyperventilate. Relax your mind and body. If a current is carrying you, turn your body so that your feet are pointed in the direction you’re headed. Before any of this happens, if you can’t float, (you can you just don’t realize it), go to a pool and practice or have a lifeguard or swimmer show you how to survival float. You can float like this for hours without any struggle, I promise. I sometimes doze off while floating, so it’s easy and relaxing. There’s no situation that can force you to drown, (except for a whirlpool, which is very rare). The majority of the current is below you, not on top of the water, so it’s extremely rare to be pulled under while floating this way. So there’s no rush to find a shore immediately. Calm yourself, save your strength and formulate a plan. Once you see a good opportunity, begin using your arms to pull, turn, push and guide yourself towards safety. You can use your legs to steady yourself like a rudder. If you’re floating, you’re not drowning! Rapids, waves, fast currents, are all very survivable. PSA for the day!

This girl has what everyone who's been in public high school would call "popular kid syndrome" intentionally picking someone they look down upon, preying on them by telling them to do something embarrassing and even saying "don't worry, i'll do it with you" while turning to their friends (or the camera, in her case) while giggling, knowing it's all a joke on the person they're picking on. then, when they get caught they immediately start lying and acting like they didn't do anything "i didn't tell you to jump in!" and "dude i didn't know she was mentally ill i just like thought she was drunk" they'll say anything to try and lessen what they did and make themselves seem clueless to take away the blatant cruelty and intention behind their bullying. she just stands around laughing with her friends because she's used to getting away with things by just talking her way out of it. it's so bizarre to see some people genuinely never outgrow the high school bully mentality. so, so strange and pathetic. i hope the woman who jumped in is okay.

11:05 That reaction to "I think you just murdered a lady" is HORRIBLE. She literally reacted the EXACT SAME WAY as a girl in my 8TH GRADE CLASS reacted to getting caught poking someone. The reactions for being guilty of poking and guilty of murder should be very different. Wtf. And update: I realized that the natalie girl kept saying "the lady wanted to skinny dip" and "she wanted me to get naked", and if I remember correctly, wasn't natalie the one that brought up skinny dipping?? The lady just agreed to it tf.

The idea that mentally ill people aren’t allowed to just walk about is so funny to me as someone with a mental illness. Like, have you ever stepped outside? This girl’s demeanor (and her “friends”) gave me visceral flashbacks to being bullied in school. It’s the exact same way they talked to me. Thank goodness my mental illness (OCD) doesn’t cause me to be pressured into doing things I shouldn’t. Seeing someone like this poor lady be taken advantage of truly hurts my soul. Natalie needs to get a reality check. The words you say to people matter!

How messed is Natalie that she didn't realize it was wrong till people in her stream told her how messed up it was. And as she is running away as she is screaming for help she says that the woman wanted to see her naked. Natalie was the one who brought up skinny dipping. It wasn't that woman. She is beyond cruel. I can't stand ppl like this.

Coaxing her to jump in and then leaving without helping is at most reckless endangerment. It's not attempted murder if there's no intention to kill. Her intentions created an unsafe situation and then she ran away without offering assistance. If she were charged with anything it might be verbal assault as she fraudulently told the woman that they would go in together and that she was certified to act as life guard. So the coercion to jump in was based on the fraud that she wouldn't be alone. Regardless, it's not attempted murder. It's either simple verbal assault and/or reckless endangerment.

This 'girl' and ALL her friends should go to jail; not only for convincing that woman to jump in the water, but also for walking away and leaving her to drown. Some of these CHILDREN are so far removed from reality and common sense that they should not be allowed out of the HOUSE without a keeper and a leash!!! They definitely shouldn't be allowed ANY access to social media at ALL. You don't just tell someone to kill themselves and run away when you see that they are DOING it. Your compassion for another living creature should not be limited by your assessment of their intelligence.

I totally agree, this young woman acted in a way that demonstrates full understanding of what she was doing in her manipulating and endangering the mentally vulnerable woman. I dont know what i can do as i am not a citizen of Texas, however, it might help for the authorities to know that people eveywhere are watching this, feel disturbed by it and are wondering what the hell Texas is doing to protect its vulnerable and deal with predators such as these pieces of trash.
