That U turn that you always have to make to get in the shop sucks, then its the fact that you have to turn from the far left lane and cut across traffic to get in doesnt help the situation. Yes. you shoulda had a blinker on but that car wasnt gonna notice it or even think it was correct since many trucks have a blinker flashing away for a while after they turn usually. With or without a blinker, when you turned from that far left lane and cut across the right lane to get in the lot, it woulda been your fault.

I think the use of the right indicator would have avoided such a close call. The passing vehicle had no clue you were turning. Had they passed you and you had your indicator on, then it would be on them as you have to expect lorries to have wide turning circle.

In Georgia that would have been your fault if the car had hit you. On the grounds you had no control of the outside lane. When I was driving concrete truck one of our cement tankers did the same turn and got hit and was charged for the wreck Trooper said because he had relinquished control of that lane. Trooper also said he knew why he made that turn there was no other choice next time double check and make sure no one is there or they are stopped.

I have been to the show 6 times over the years but have not been since Covid, I stayed a couple more days just to see the show, I love it. I am from Newfoundland in Canada 🇨🇦 and spend the winters in Leesburg FL. Drove over the road for 80% of my 46 years accident free in the seat of a truck. I still keep my CDL someone always needs a driver for a few trips in the summer . When I get to Florida in November I will see if I can find you at the shop in Dane City. A)the car was in the smoke shop parking lot. So no stop sign. B) after you turned you went 100% into the left lane. The car was making a legal (albeit discouraged in defensive driving) pass. The need to make a wide turn and/or a turn signal does NOT give you the automatic right of way. The car had the ROW, you had the obligation to yield. You forced that car off the road. You even said it in your little explanation. "When you started the turn oncoming traffic was completely clear". So based on the information you had when you started the turn you decided ti be lazy and not check your mirrors to double check if a car had showed up. You were on a busy commercial area. Another vehicle could show up at any time from many entry point. Take responsibility for your own actions. You would have been cited for this. 21:33

Sorry dude, but that’s all you. Making a u-turn, which was way too wide. Legally you can go over the far lanes of the road you are turning into, but not the lanes you are turning from. Can tell from the video, but perhaps you couldn’t make the turn from the right lane, but then if you do have to turn from the left lane, which again ideally you aren’t supposed to do, it’s on you to make sure it would be safe to do so, including signalling.

Problem people have is their not paying attention while driving around simi trucks or trailers they take wide swings and just because he's in the wrong turn lane it's because of the trailer he's pulling behind him to make a sharp turn people think the have time or just not paying attention causes accidents all the time I got hit recently with my 2021 gooseneck trailer making a sharp turn as someone trying to past me and didn't realize I was turning towards them lucky no one was injured but I believe their car is totalled
