You don’t have to like it, but honestly, yesterday I talked to a friend about this topic, and I’ve changed my mind. The only one that could benefit from a tracker is Elden Ring. I think I got a bit carried away by my completionist side having to check guides all the time to get the plat in Bborne🤣

Hearing Miyazaki talk game design, I think the lack of quest objective markers is less "because hard" and more "because immersive." He (and I) enjoy the experience of a lived-in world, with characters and stories that are happening all around you, weaving in and out of your personal narrative. You sort of 'stumble into' these quests, giving not only more realism, but, in my opinion, more mystique and more replayability.
@ComYuriY7 ай бұрын
At least an option to enable and disable them, so immersed players can get what they want and the same for completionists
@joshuathompson24047 ай бұрын
@@ComYuriY or completionists could use Google. I think the whole "community" aspect of these games is also a big selling point. We figure them out together. We parse out the story together. We help each other overcome......and sometimes we kill each other:)

In fact there's two sides of this coin of bad takes. One being from people that have infinitely stupid complaints, the other comes from people who claim these games being 10/10 flawless justifying everything the dumbest way possible even though each of fromsoft games is far from being perfect and have lot of problems, each can have their own list that can go very far. Of course, this doesn't make these games bad, these are very good games I like playing them. But not accepting the problem existance or strictly ignoring it will lead to it's repeat in the future games and DLCs.

Yk, I love bloodborne, its my favourite fromsoft game hands down and it holds an extra special place for being my introduction to the genre. I could talk for hours about how and why its such an amazing experience. I could tell you about the mind-boggling cryptic and minimalist storytelling, I could tell you about the sick, flashy, and, downright abusive movement and combat. I could even drop hours talking about the litteral mindblowing, PAINSTAKING attention to detail thats present in every fucking polygon in this wonderful assortments of ones and zeros... And despite all my boundless love for this game, I pity the poor fucking soul who dared to criticise it. Not because of how much I love the game, but for the fact that the community will live and die by that game. And I do mean that they. will. DIE on this hill. No matter the cost, nobody gets away with criticising BB without losing a part of their soul in the process.

It has a 1-2 flaws tbh, like the frame rate drops and the bad quality of many boss fights in the main game, like Micolash, witches, one reborn, rom…
@gavinferguson29387 ай бұрын
@@ComYuriY I liked rom and one reborn just fine, but micolash and the witch? Yeah no they sucked, also the framerate was dog, and vial farming sucks. Its definitley not without its issues but all in all still my favourite game 👍👍

Remember, Miyazaki has made games inspired by a manga named BERSERK... you thought the games would be easy? Thats your biggest mistake I first started Soulslikes with Bloodborne (I still cope for a PS5 upgrade, including ports), it's not easy, but definitely not a cakewalk... i loved Bloodborne so much that i platinumed the game, and bought few other soulslike... boy do i love pain lol

i thought this was mostly about DS2 but it wasn't even there. The dumbest takes are about darksouls made my popular KZbinrs. Most of their complaints are just that the game is too hard. I played through it again toNG+2. I started ds3 again but now I just want to go back to DS2. DS2 has issues but also the most complaints. It is a fromsoft game like the others there are rules and if you don't follow those you are punished.
@ComYuriY7 ай бұрын
I kept Dark Souls 2 out because the complaints were so predictable, like inconsistent map design, hitboxes, bad boss design, forgettable soundtrack, unfair ganks, etc… which are mostly true but I didn’t want to spend 7-10 min addressing that because I’ve already mentioned most of these in my own review.

RIP Dark souls 2 I am a huge soulslike and fromsoft fan, i first played dark souls 3, then dark souls 2 and then elden ring when it came out. I recently started dark souls 1 and tbh.. its not my favorite, its at the bottom for me until now, i get i have to get into it first but i really think its not as good of a game as everyone says, i feel like nostalgia plays a huge role in it. I think im like 15-20% done with dark souls 1, until now i really preferred dark souls 2, but thats just my opinion and who knows, it may change in the future!

Pursuer, velstadt, lost sinner, looking glass knight (hate the summon mechanic) and smelter demon, and the rotten maybe. I think all of these bosses have a good balance between difficulty (except LGK if he summons a real person), and fun factor. Of course, fume knight, alonne, sihn and ivory king are way better, but you said “decent bosses”.

@@ComYuriY purser is kinda cool but you can make the fight a joke just by walking to his right and you dont even need to dodge just walk around him cuz he spams the same two attacks. and im not gonna lie smelter demon was super easy as well the only hard thing about him is getting a heal off because of the small boss room. and yeah i agreee that the dlc bosses are great but im talking about base game, looking glass knight is cool but i wasnt playing online so i didnt get to experience that cool mechanic he just summoned a npc, i dont remember much about lost sinner which isnt a good sign cuz i remember every boss from most other souls games

You know, in my first playthrough I completely lost nepheli’s quest, mainly because I didn’t visit her at the aubinauric village on time, and when I went there (after checking a guide), she was no longer there, and nowhere to be found. Milicent would’ve been more of the same without internet’s help, because I would have never figured out her random waiting spot at those plateaus that have nothing around to do. Maybe they could have the questline tracker as an enable/disable feature, disabled for people who want to feel immersed and enabled for people who want to experience all quests and not miss a single one. Of course you have internet for that, but what’s the point of refusing a little hand holding from fromsoft if you have to check guides?
