You say using summons is an indication of a lack of skill and not using "all the game gives you" in terms of a full experience. I say the summons have lore, are interesting, and by ignoring them YOU are missing out on some good writing and interesting characters that the game offers you.

Lack of skill was one of the reasons, I also mentioned that others might want to enjoy more the story rather than the gameplay, or want to make it a quicker experience because they have got other things to do. Remember what I said, I don’t take sides in this story. Me saying it can mean a lack of skill wasn’t me poking fun at summoners. Besides, to understand summons lore, I don’t have to use them in combat, only read their description, with exception of Melina vs Morgott where she uses a Black Knife moveset, which could mean something but who knows.

I normally don't stick with souls content on youtube unless its lore related but this was genuinely really entertaining and you speak really well and keep a good flow throughout the video, hope you continue to make similar content to this, and I don't feel you were overly judgmental at all as some other comments may have pointed out. You do realize that the difficulty of the game is based around summoning right? 2 of the dlc character quests lines literally cannot be fully completed without summoning

No, it isn’t. The fact that you have to summon Hornsent, Igon and Ansbach to complete their quests doesn’t mean the game revolves around summoning. The fact that Fromsoftware put them inside of the arena instead of outside shows that they wanted to allow people to fight alone and summon them right before finishing the fight to get the quest.

@@ComYuriY important to not summons inside boss arena's don't boost boss stats either, so the devs also very clearly wanted players to have the expected experience from a boss in terms of HP/Damage by including these summons beyond the wall

Video’s called Analyzing ER’s facebook community, so of course I will comment on what people do. The game’s made to be 100% cleared out in 400-500h tops. If I think it’s crazy that someone puts 2600 hours into it, I’ll say it. Thanks for your input anyway👍🏽

Nope, I’m just stating a real solution. For players to find a way to agree, elitists have to shut it every time they think about criticising someone for their playstyle, and players who’ll do anything but learn attack patters, delays and hitting windows should calm down because they’re not experiencing the full scope of the game. IMO, that is a pretty neutral position which benefits both parties, and the only requirement for this to happen is to stfu and have fun🤷🏽‍♂️ comment your ideas about small peepee summoners and sweaty elitists with your friends, don’t bring that shit to social media where it gives a bad look to the community. Not a single soul cares about how you finished the game summonless or how you used every single advantage the game offers you.

@@ComYuriY i have total 900 hours on ELDEN RING. pve runs just around 100 to 200 hours and the rest til 700 is pvp invasion related then DLC runs added another 200 hours another 100 into pvp then i get off. in DS3 I have 2735 hours, i sinked first 400 hours into pve runs, the rest is like mix of replay pve and pvp invasion duels and ganking.

Since it wasn't clear the first 100 times, the "elitists" complaining about summons are not trying to criticize your pp because you used summons- they are complaining because it really seems like this game was balanced around having a summon. This is covering up bad game design. Furthermore, it seems like so many conversations just devolve into garbage because someone just says "use your summon" (reinforcing my previous point). Unfortunately, the bosses don't seem well-designed to facilitate this paradigm. The oppressiveness of many of the boss's designs seems geared instead to frustrate you into using a summon.

Also a very good point that I forgot to mention. There’s a moment in the video where I briefly talked about fights being designed having summons in mind. They patched Gaius and the Hippo so you have more time to summon but not Messmer and Radahn🫡 I don’t really care about summons, I just don’t want them to become a mandatory part of their future deliveries, as in Mortal Kombat 1, where it’s all about 2v2s instead of 1v1s.

The only thing in this video that bugged me is about how you said if you use summons you can't comment on the difficulty some of my friends use summons and they're way better then me at the game and gives some decent takes about the difficulty of the bosses, you also said people who gatekeep are assholes when thats kinda what you're doing with difficulty elden ring wants you to beat the game just like every other soulsbourne title using the tools to make you're experience "easier" isnt a easy mode its doing what Miyazaki designed, to overcome a huge challenge with the tools at your disposal. yes we had a harder time but that's on us people who summons and beat the game should be able to comment on any boss or questline the only opinions that shouldn't be valid are the ones about bosses, areas etc. they haven't done yet

Elden Ring DLC is tooo easssyyy????!!!!! I used +25 mimic tear +99 powerstanced colossal weapons. Summoned 2 NPCs. 3 Other people online. Was level 400 on NG. And I beat every boss in 0.5 tries. I guess this community needs to git gud????

Lol you're doing the same thing just suggesting that strategizing and using summons is "easy mode." It isn't "easy mode" it's "default mode." Summons are not an auxiliary feature, they literally included revered ashes along with scadutree fragments in the DLC. Having played FromSoft games prior to Elden Ring doesn't make you own the franchise. Don't be like that angsty teenager who is upset about the sound of a new album, subconsciously hoping the band they like fails and won't appeal to a wider audience. You should just be grateful more people will be introduced to it if you like it so much, or are you just a contrarian who only likes fringe things and abandons them when others start enjoying them, too? Almost had me in the beginning with your "play as you want to" spiel. Anyone can "overcome the challenge themselves" like I did the first time I played it when I didn't have a job and an unhealthy amount of time to invest into it. I didn't skim, I just responded early, then you talked about what I brought up after I wrote it, from my reference. I don't dispute anything you're saying, but despite us making the same arguments, you're still acting superior to other people over yeah, the game you "spent less than 400 hours on." and keep calling out a skill difference, which would be fine if you weren't taking passive aggressive jabs at what you basically frame as your disabled colleagues you're sticking up for who didn't play DS2 naked without using healing. FromSoft isn't as toxic as LoL but this attitude of like "oh, don't blame them just because they're bad, let's grace them with our permission to enjoy our game, because we own it" is just as toxic in a different way, maybe leading to less self-harm, at least. You defend the "get gud," exclusive culture at every chance in this video.
