There is no bottom screw
@TheGarageBandSyndicate Жыл бұрын
@methatlovescats3602 there must be some kind of mechanism to put the cymbal on a little lean. It's personal preference as to how much lean but I currently like there to be 3/8" to 1/2" of a gap in the front when the back are touching without a foot on the pedal at all. If there's no adjustment you might try shaving the felt underneath to give some lean. I would recommend a better hi hat stand with the adjustment screw and also the ability to adjust spring tension.

There's mainly two types of cymbals from Zildjian and Sabian, the traditional cast ingot type made from B20 bronze, (20% tin/80% copper), that the Zildjian family have made for centuries, and modern manufacturing stamped sheet metal made with B8 bronze, (8% tin/92% copper). The traditional cast B20 type are more expensive than the sheet metal type B8 for two main reasons. One, tin is more expensive than copper, so B20 alloy is more expensive than B8. And two, the cast ingot forging process is much more complicated, labor intensive, and time consuming than the stamped sheet metal method. As the cheaper B8 bronze contains more copper relative to tin, it has a more yellow tint to its final color, whereas cast B20 has a more silver/grey tint. The annoying clangyness of this hat, as well as its yellow tint, is a typical example of the tonality and look of B8 sheet metal cymbals. While both Zildjian and Sabian make and sell many lines of cymbals, almost all of them fall into either the "Pro Grade" B20 type, or the "Amateur/Student Grade" B8 type. When shopping for cymbals, as much as budget permits, always try to go for the traditional B20 cast ingot style, rather than the cheaper B8 style. Your ears, and the ears of your bandmates and audience, will thank you...

@gestalt77568 ай бұрын
@@StringedGuitar17you're right, it's even not bronze (b20, b12, or b8) cymbals. It's brass cymbal, mix of bronze and zinc if I'm not mistaken. Brass cymbal is the most cheap and entry level cymbal that used a lot, bundled with standard drum kit. B8 and B12 have lot better sounding than this, but I'm curious to mix it with regular bronze such as hi-hat bottom brass and top b20, or mix it to make stack cymbals.

I have some notes- 1. Those are entry level zildjian hats, intended for beginners and for practice 2. Most of all, youre not getting the best sound you could be getting out of those hats. Open hat cymbals should have enough contact to sizzle. If theyre not, its an operator error

I'm sort of disagree about this. Hi-hat sounds in acoustic kit could be variative. The hit edge part sound (that you've played on that video) still decent. Just like me, I often lift off the pedal and play the top part cymbal of hi-hat to get various sounds.
