Totally agree. Studios SHOULD do whatever it takes to show the customers they CARE. I mean they'd have nothing without customers, right? Which makes this "chapter" in gaming (where they blame the fans) makes 0 sense. ~I wish the gaming industry would get back to the 00's era vibe. When mag's would have demo discs. Where they would dive into game development BTS stuff. I just miss seeing the behind the scenes stuff, the process of putting ideas together & finding out what works best through a play testing process. I think we just need to see glimpses of gameplay more and stop with all this "radio silence route that game companies take now.. its awful." Their current approach is definitely creating this sorta reverse psychology effect because they just aren't approaching how to handle this gaming world "in these long spaces between games." While projects are being worked on sorta thing. The entire gaming industry needs to find better ways to approach & do these things. It will benefit gaming as a whole. The companies & the customers will be in a better place. We gotta improve things. If they want to keep making $$$ they gotta improve things.

first half right, second half wrong. The Dark Side has done evil things, but the Light/Dark dichotomy is between order and passion, not good and evil. If two things can be called the primary reason that the Jedi Order fell it would be that they were repressive to Anakin which led him to grow resentful and distant, and their own trust in systems and rules prevented them from being aware of or acting against growing threats. Both of these were internal and intrinsic flaws of the Jedi themselves. Sheev lit the spark, but they poured the petrol on themselves. He grew in power without their awareness because they had become blind to the messy reality of the world and trusted the system too much to realize what was going on, and by the time they did they were so entrenched they couldn't do anything about it. Add in that he was only able to mould Darth-fucking-Vader into Darth-fucking-Vader by being the parental-figure which the Jedi had knowingly taken from him, and it's pretty clear cut that he only took them down because of the Order's own internal failings.

Where Jaina Solo is far more badass than Rey Palpatine. Disney had an easy lay up if Episode VII had kicked off with Grand Master Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy with Ben and Jaina as Jedi Masters, then introducing Finn and Rey as new Jedi. Keeping the EU books as "legends of canon" would also have given them dozens of stories of source material to adapt into animated canonized version by trimming out the over the top aspects and removing any retcon contradictions and filling in the gap between VI and VII that way. Make the books like Logan treated the comics. "About half of it actually happened and not like this."

It would’ve been cool to see a Japanese samurai, but now we just get a discount Yasuke (who I still think is one of the coolest dudes in history) and it feels weird. Totally agree. I also hate in this new age the consumer need to be very careful because big companies use a lot of cash to say the game is actually good, and if you read only the "game journalist" you may be fooled. I'm not saying there is no echo chambers on the other side, but at least with many views you can made your own conclussions.... Or look for a channel that shares you POV (like this one and me) and enjoy the reviews.

There's a whole industry dedicated to disparage certain products to the ground. Negativity sells and generates views and click (as an example, here we are both you and me). The Acolyte for example wasn't perfect by any means, but also it wasn't the absolute Christmas-special-level trainwrecks all these "content producers" would have you believe. I've been listening to youtubers talking trash about this "female-driven SW show set in the High Republic" for years before it released. Like I said, it's a new kind of industry. That said, I love my Star Wars games, but being able to render stormtroopers unconscious with a bare handed conk on the head is a couple bridges too far for me.

@@TheRose202 that is a good question. I can't recall how it was done in the books. It's been 20 years or so XD. But it might be that the torpedo launchers were replaced by laser cannons. I can recall that there was an ugly that combined Y Wing engines with a TIE cockpit. It was described as slow and with low maneuverablility just as a Yawing and lacking shields... Like a TIE. The version in the set with TIE cockpit and wings was used by the twi'lek of ryloth if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for not blaming the whole failure of the show on “woke ideology.” These failures happen regardless because of companies focusing too much on side features and not the main product. The product can be good and diverse at the same time and you seem to understand that. And I appreciate your point on how immediately bigotry was blamed for the show’s failure instead of the quality of writing. It implies that also works as a bad argument in return. I respect that.

You did touch on this with Starwars Outlaws but there's also another concern that I've been noticing in videogames for a while. For decades hardcore games were the cutting edge of the industry in being ahead of everyone else, this was due to the fact that their player base hardcore gamers demanded such expectations of their games. It's what made such games in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s so great. For years there's been a surge of casual players and whales going into such games and almost all are not able to handle the very hard difficulty and ruthless nature of such games (both single and multiplayer games). In catering to them, devs would nerf/change the games from what they originally were and chase off the hardcore gamers. This ended up getting more games to become easier instead of keeping to their core audience and ruining the games. The devs of Elden Ring were aware of this and it's why they didn't cave in regarding nerfing the difficulty of their game. Starwars Outlaws has not only completely nerfed the difficulty of the game but there's practically no difficulty at all (with the exception of some that were bugs). It's one of the reasons why Ubisoft games have been failing horribly because there's no real challenge in playing them anymore and that's a big part of what makes Starwars Outlaws so boring.

Seeing this stuff fail gives me much joy too. I don't get how games can be so out of touch nowadays? I dearly miss how 90s-00s gaming had such a vast range of creativity. I love the amount of risk they took on odd concepts in This Y2K era- the Dreamcast/PS2/360. It should show us that GRAPHICS are not the most important thing.. If you can create satisfying movement, gameplay mechanics, physics effects, responsive parts of a environment that makes you want to explore it, engage it, etc. That stuff is so much more important. Not: {"Who can make the largest game map? Or have the most reflections?"} I think Art style, design, vibe, aesthetic is much more important. You don't need top notch graphics to greatly appreciate and enjoy playing a game. That's why we are seeing such a resurgence of players who have gone back to playing older games because they realized the aspects of gaming that they care about and are unhappy with most modern games. So hopefully gaming will enter a new era. That mixes in aspects of the older era's. With our modern capabilities that will hopefully help make it easier to create a satisfying game (without it taking 8 years to build a broken game. Hopefully) Currently everything is trying to be like a Triple AAA game or a free to play online battle Royale game.. A lot of us miss when we had game selection similar to how the Dreamcast/GameCube/360/PS2 era had a mix of. As well alot of those games came with options for local multiplayer, split screen, LAN parties, or offline modes against bots or other diverse offline CPU game modes. Yet modern games are not only lacking those dynamic options that give games nearly endless replayability features... Modern games are lacking even meeting the most basic standards for game's... They don't seemed focused on the core of the games to be Fun. They over focus on "realism" Rather than adding in Artistic adaptations for the greater good of gaming as a whole.. We could be doing so much better yet people are just coming out with the most bland game design, braindead AI, less care for physics effects... We could be doing so much better than this..
