I really loved Terrifier 3. I watched 1 and 2 first, which really added a lot of the lore to 3. If you are invested in the Sienna vs Art battle, then I think the story in 3 has more stakes. Or at the very least, there is an emotional component to the story. Plus i just find the lore to be really cool in general. I don't really know how to take the criticism of "it's not subtle" and "it's in your face". This is true, but the film also balances it with comedy. Art is a funny character in a twisted way. The faces he makes. The extreme levels of cruelty. You really can't separate that from the gory kill scenes. But for me it totally clicks, and that's why it works.

I get what Damien Leone is saying when talking about Psycho. It seems really tame today, but Alfred Hitchcock was really pushing the envelope for that time. It was incredibly scandalous to depict things like an unmarried couple getting dressed after clearly making love or a naked woman being stabbed to death in a shower, at the time. Hitchcock was simply restrained in what he could show by the restrictions of the era. Ultimately, I'd only disagree with Leone in that I don't really think he's pushing the envelope like Hitchcock. This kind of gore isn't something that has never been done before.

Absolutely, Hitchcock's Psycho really did redefine what was possible in mainstream cinema. It wasn’t just the story itself but also the way he navigated tight censorship rules, breaking taboos in ways that were surprisingly subtle yet incredibly impactful. Scenes that feel tame now like the bedroom scene after a couple has been together or the iconic shower scene were bold and shocking at the time, pushing boundaries in ways audiences weren’t used to. On the other hand, directors like Leone are working in a different cinematic landscape where explicit violence and gore are already fairly common, especially in horror. Leone’s style has its own intensity, but it feels distinct. Hitchcock’s horror was more psychological, rooted in tension and suggestion, which made it feel groundbreaking. Leone’s approach is more visually intense, and while effective, it might not carry that same shock factor because audiences have become more familiar with graphic styles over the years.

@@Suto_Ko On another note, I think something is lost by the loss of the constraints Hitchcock had to deal with. I'm not offended by the explicit violence of Leone's work whatsoever. However, I feel like there is something more "fulfilling" about the subtlety and suggestion.

Hey guys, tell me what you thought about the movie. I'm thinking of making a follow-up video where I go over the broder discussion of the film.

Bro really thinks a couple of broken bones from jiu-jitsu is more graphic than watching a dude get chainsawed in half... lol

It's easier to watch because it's clearly made to be over-the-top and absurd.

lol no. 2 added really cool lore, and 3 added an emotional component with Sienna and her family. The series is def improving.
